    摘要： A method of adding a power feed to electrical systems includes coupling a set of input lines to a power source such that the input lines are connected to at least one phase of AC power from the power source, and coupling a set of backfeed lines to an output receptacle in a power distribution unit. The output receptacle may be connected in parallel with at least one other output receptacle that is supplying primary power to systems in the data center. The set of backfeed lines and the set of input lines may be tested to determine a match between a pair of lines in the set of backfeed lines and a pair of lines in the set of input lines. Determining the match may include matching the phase of the pair of backfeed lines with the phase of the pair of input lines.

    摘要： In a remote-control communication system, a signal generating unit includes a first signal transmitter for transmitting a first signal at a first frequency, such as UHF, a second signal transmitter for transmitting a second signal at a second frequency, such as an infrared frequency, that is diverse from the first frequency; a keyboard for generating an information signal containing a given message, which is modulated onto both the first signal and the second signal; wherein both the first and second modulated signals are transmitted in response to a key of the keyboard being pressed to generate the information signal. A receiver for the system includes a microcontroller for processing the given message to control a given operation of an electronic communication apparatus; a UHF detector and demodulator unit and an infrared detector and demodulator unit, which respectively detect and demodulate the first and second modulated signals to provide the information signal containing the given message. The microcontroller also processes both the information signal provided by demodulating the first modulated signal and the information signal provided by demodulating the second modulated signal to select the given message for operation-control processing by the microcontroller from either the information signal provided by demodulating the first modulated signal or the information signal provided by demodulating the second modulated signal.

    摘要： In a modern television apparatus, the settings are generally realized by menu-calling sequences in which different menus successively appear on the display screen. Finally, a variable is retained and it is possible to increase or decrease its value by way of a pair of "+" and "-" keys (13), respectively. The last variable which has been set by the sequence of menus can now be set again after such a sequence and without having to run through this sequence again if the "normal" keys (13) are subsequently used. Moreover, additional "+" and "-" keys (15) having about the same function may be provided: the variable to be set by means of the keys 13 and 15, respectively, will be the one which has been set by way of the same keys during a previous sequence of menus.

    摘要： Apparatus and method for switching between two input sources to a television receiver and/or video recording device. Switching may be carried out with a conventional remote control otherwise dedicated to the video recorder or television receiver by holding down a control button thereof for at least a predetermined interval of time, for example two seconds. Five RF diode switches along with solid state logic components are employed to respond to the remotely developed switching signals for carrying out TV receiver and VCR source selections by the viewer. The pre-existing television or VCR operational status is not affected by the remote controllers where an ongoing channel selection simply is reinforced or a function of the remote controller is elected which has no undesired effect upon that ongoing operational status.

    摘要： A remote control system for a television receiver includes a transmitter and a receiver, the transmitter being adapted for transmitting a single word multibit code identifying a selected function of the television receiver. Each bit of the transmitted multibit code comprises a first occurring data signal representing a selected logic state followed immediately in time succession by a second occurring data signal representing the complementary logic state, the first and second data signals comprising a single pulse representing a first logic state or a grouping of at least two relatively closely spaced pulses representing a second logic state, whereby each transmitted bit comprises the same number of pulses. The remote control receiver includes apparatus for testing the parity relationship of the first and second occurring data signals of each bit of the received multibit code and for controlling the selected function in response to each tested bit being characterized by a condition of parity.
