    摘要: For efficiently handling data transactions between various system units (CPUs, I/O units and main memory units) in a multi-processor system, the system units are linked via a plurality of expandable crossbar modules, each providing a set of interconnections or well-defined mappings between the sets of input and output nodes, with each output being defined in terms of only one input. In addition to the nodes provided at the input and output sections, each crossbar module is also provided with discrete input and output expansion portions through which the module may be linked to other identically configured crossbar modules when additional nodes are to be integrated into the system. The expansion ports allow serial linking of crossbar modules so as to establish a connection between source and destination nodes which are spread across different crossbar modules. The serially-linked expansion ports realize direct mapping between all system nodes in the form of a two-stage network; the basic crossbar design remains the same and there is no need for the problematic redesign of crossbar modules for accommodating added data transfer nodes. The modular crossbar design is particularly adapted for use with different system configurations having different numbers of communication nodes and permits a system to be upgraded by adding communication nodes by using additional identically configured crossbar modules.

    摘要: A spark-advance mechanism for an internal combustion engine is operated by vacuum pressure in the engine intake manifold. A conduit connecting the spark-advance mechanism to the intake manifold includes a solenoid operated valve which is normally open, and which is closed by either of two switches connected in parallel. One of the switches is closed when the engine temperature is low, and the other is closed when the engine RPM is high. When the solenoid valve is energized by either or both switches to close the conduit, atmospheric air is bled through an orifice to cause slow advance of the spark timing.

    摘要: A nodal switching network is disclosed wherein each node is connected to distant nodes by groups of links whose lengths are ordered to span distances definable by powers of a finite (preferably binary) integer. Starting at the calling node, a single idle link in a preferred coordinate direction is attempted to be seized to extend the connection as far as possible by a direct path. If a direct path link spanning the most of the distance in the preferred coordinate direction cannot be seized, a direct path link is attempted to be seized in another coordinate direction. If no link which would extend the connection most efficiently in either coordinate direction can be seized, links of less direct length in the coordinate directions are tested. If the call is still blocked, the procedure is repeated in the direction from the called node toward the calling node.

    摘要: A terminal hunting system for automatic telephone switching, in which, in the event that, of a plurality of subscribers'' numbers combined into a group including a pilot number, the pilot number is dialed and found to be busy, one of the idle numbers in the group is seized in such a manner that if the common control device receives the busy pilot number from the register as a called number, it sends a signal to the register and resets itself, while the register changes the called number to another number in the group thereby to energize the common control device again. This process is repeated until an idle number is found. The above-mentioned arrangement eliminates the necessity of the number group and the terminal hunting unit required in the conventional system.
