摘要: A method for clarifying a flowable starting product of solids using a self-emptying centrifuge in continuous operation in a centrifugal field in the rotating drum. A continuous draining of at least one clarified liquid phase occurs and solids emptying occurs repeatedly via outlet openings that are intermittently opened and closed. The emptying of solids from the drum of the centrifuge is initiated, the speed of the drum of the centrifuge is reduced, the solids are emptied from the solids collection chamber of the drum after lowering the speed of the drum, and the emptying of the solids from the drum is ended.

摘要: In a cell washing centrifuge for washing living cells such as blood cells, control of the remaining amount of a supernatant according to the related art greatly depends on controlling the rotation speed of a motor, and thus a highly accurate motor control part is required to prevent overshooting or the like. In place of the related art, an easy control method is required. In the discharging of a supernatant discharge by a centrifuge having a plurality of test tube holders that can radially swing through centrifugal force, a holding part using an electromagnet that can control the swinging of the test tube holders, and a cleaning liquid distribution element that supplies a cleaning liquid into a test tube, a first decanting operation ({circle around (3)}-1) is performed by rotating a rotor in the order of acceleration, settling, and deceleration in a state in which the agitating angle of the test tube is restricted and discharging the supernatant of the cleaning liquid from the test tube, and a second decanting operation ({circle around (3)}-2) is performed, at a time of a final decanting operation, by accelerating the rotor, releasing restriction on the agitating angle during the acceleration, and then decelerating the rotor.

摘要: A fluid processing device includes a controller, a centrifuge configured to receive and rotate a continuous-flow centrifuge chamber, a pump system, an optical detection assembly, and a pressure sensor. The controller executes a priming procedure in which a priming fluid is conveyed into the centrifuge chamber while the chamber is being rotated by the centrifuge, which moves air out of the chamber via a low-g outlet conduit. Upon detecting priming fluid exiting the centrifuge chamber via the low-g outlet conduit, the chamber is rotated at a higher rate to attempt to move any remaining air out of the chamber via the low-g outlet conduit. The controller then determines, based on signals from the optical detection assembly and pressure sensor, whether there is any air remaining in the centrifuge chamber. If so, the rotational rate is alternately decreased and increased until all the air has been cleared from the centrifuge chamber.

摘要: A centrifugal separator and a method of controlling a centrifugal separator are disclosed. The centrifugal separator includes a separator rotor delimiting a separation space. At least one tube extends from at least one radially outer portion of the separation space towards a central portion of the separator rotor. The method includes inter alia changing a rotational speed of the separator rotor from a first rotational speed to a second rotational speed, such that a heavy phase accumulation at a periphery of the separation space is displaced in a circumferential direction.

摘要: A centrifugal separator for cleaning gas containing contaminants includes a stationary casing enclosing a separation space through which a gas flow is permitted, a gas inlet extending through the stationary casing and permitting supply of the gas to be cleaned, a rotating member including a plurality of separation members arranged in said separation space and being arranged to rotate around an axis of rotation, a gas outlet configured to permit discharge of cleaned gas and including an outlet opening through a wall of the stationary casing, a drainage outlet configured to permit discharge of liquid impurities separated from the gas to be cleaned and an electrical motor for rotating the rotating member. The centrifugal separator further includes a control unit configured to control the operation of the electrical motor and to drive the electrical motor in at least two different operational modes and to further switch between operational modes depending at least on information of at least one measured internal parameter of the electrical motor.

摘要: A method for operating a rotation separator in an internal combustion engine, wherein, after the engine and separator have been switched off, it is determined whether there is a danger of the condensate in the separator freezing to ice because of cold ambient temperatures. If there is danger of ice formation, the separator is started up again by itself, i.e., without the engine being re-started, and is operated at a speed that effectively removes condensate from the rotor of the separator, so as to prevent icing of the separator.

摘要: Provided herein are devices and methods of processing a sample that include, in several embodiments, rotating one or more microfluidic chips that are mounted on a support plate using a motor driven rotational chuck. By spinning one or more of the microfluidic chips about a common center of rotation in a controlled manner, high flow rates (and high shear forces) are imparted to the sample in a controlled manner. Each microfluidic chip can be rotated 180° on the support plate so that the sample can be run back-and-forth through the microfluidic devices. Because the support plate can be driven at relatively high RPMs, high flow rates are generated within the microfluidic chips. This increases the shear forces on the sample and also decreases the processing time involved as the sample can quickly pass through the shear-inducing features of the microfluidic chip(s).

摘要: A method for operating a centrifugal separator associated with a prime mover and/or a working machine. The centrifugal separator comprises at least one rotatably mounted rotor that can be rotated at a variable speed via a drive controlled by a control unit. The method is characterized in that the speed of the rotor is controlled according to the sound emissions of the prime mover and/or according to the sound emissions of the working machine.
