摘要: The diameter, the orientation flat width/notch depth and the length of the block 10p are measured by the measuring devices 71a, 71b and 71c respectively and then the machining errors .DELTA.Dp, .DELTA.Wp and .DELTA.Lp in the measured values against the set values are calculated at the error calculation unit 833. Then .DELTA.Dp, .DELTA.Wp and .DELTA.Lp are stored in memory at the memory unit 834 in correspondence with the identification codes IDi and IDj of the grinding device 5i (i=1-N) and the cutting device 6j (j=1-M) that performed the machining. Then at the average value calculation unit 835, the average values of .DELTA.Dp and .DELTA.Wp for each of the grinding devices 51-5N and the average value of the .DELTA.Lp for each of the cutting devices 61-6M are calculated. The average values of .DELTA.Dp and .DELTA.Wp are supplied to the corresponding grinding device 5i as the diameter correction value and the width/depth correction value respectively and the average value of .DELTA.Lp is sent to the corresponding cutting device 6j as the length correction value from the transmission unit 836.

摘要: In a numerical control grinding machine using a grinding wheel made of cubic boron nitride, a computerized numerical controller controls the infeed movement of a wheel head to effect a rough grinding, a drifty grinding and a fine grinding on a rotating cylindrical workpiece. The drifty grinding due to a spring-back motion which is caused by a flexed workpiece is initiated in response to a sizing signal from a sizing device which measures the workpiece diameter varying momentarily during the grinding operation and is terminated upon the expiration of a predetermined time which is sufficient to vanish the variation of the workpiece diameter. A sizing device measures the actual diameter thereafter, and the sizing signal is compensated in order to approximate the actual diameter to a desired set size which is the sum of a finish diameter and a predetermined allowance for the subsequent fine grinding operation, as the number of the workpieces increases. That is, the numerical controller diminishes a set size which determines the time point to issue the sizing signal from the sizing device, toward the desired set size on a step-by-step basis with the increase in number of the workpieces ground.

摘要: The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for adjusting the weight of workpiece by twice machining a weight-adjustment portion formed on the workpiece. In the present invention, the same cutting tool is used for machining the weight-adjustment portion and the feeding position for the second machining of the weight-adjustment portion is determined in response to the weight of the workpiece after the first machining. According to the present invention, even if the tips of the cutting tool should wear because of prolonged machining operations and, as a result, the amount of the first machining is insufficient, the said insufficiency is compensated for by the second machining.

摘要: An automatic control for a grinding system is disclosed for controlling the advancement of a grinding wheel into a workpiece to provide a substantially constant time span between the termination of the operation of the feed means which advances the grinding wheel and the attainment of the final size of the workpiece for each workpiece machined. The control generates a reference time span and if the actual time span deviates by more than a preselected time period from the reference time span, the control develops a control signal adjusting the advancement of the grinding wheel during the grinding of the following workpiece.

摘要: An apparatus for evaluating the shape of a three-dimensional object by comparing direct measurements of the surface of an actual worked version of the object with its ideal shape. A representation of an ideal surface of the object based upon reference data is set within a given space. A worked surface of the object is also set within the given space, based upon measurements of the worked surface at several measurement points. A processor calculates the intersection point on the ideal surface of the line extending from each of the measurement points that perpendicularly intersects the ideal surface. The distance between each intersection point and its corresponding measurement point is calculated to evaluate the precision of the worked surface.
