摘要： A strike and non-strike impact control mechanism for typewriter comprises a drive shaft (4) equipped with at least two cams (8 and 9) corresponding to different strike forces, a tracker (13) of the contour of said cams, the movement of which is transmitted to a printing element (1), means (17 and 18) for displacement of said tracker (13), and means (20, 40 and 41) for receiving command impulses. So as to avoid the transfer of significant amounts of energy in the course of giving command impulses the mechanism comprises a tension spring (39) which acts upon the displacement means (17 and 18) so as to cause them to work in connection with an abutment apparatus (34-38). Said abutment apparatus (34-38) is controlled in various positions by said reception means (20, 40 and 41). A return apparatus (59 and 61) driven by drive shaft (4) returns displacement means (17 and 18) to a position known as normal following each complete rotation of said shaft (4).

摘要： A serial printer is described which includes a platen, a printer head, a mechanism for selecting one desired type out of a plurality of types on the printer head, a mechanism for joining a printer head shaft and an output shaft of the type selector, a pusher for pushing the selected type further outward than the adjacent types, a support for supporting the printer head and a striking mechanism connected to the printer head for causing the printer head to strike the platen, thereby enabling printing of the desired type. The printer head includes a shaft and a type wheel which is connected to the shaft. The printer head also has a plurality of resiliently supported types thereon. The selector brings a desired type to a printing position on the printer head, and the support allows the printer head to pivotally move about an axis to strike the platen.

摘要： A serial printing device comprises a type drum rotatably mounted on a carriage which can move parallely to a platen. On the periphery of the type drum are mounted a plurality of character-bearing elements urged against the drum by biasing means. A stepping motor rotates the drum for positioning a selected character-bearing element in front of the platen. A hammer is actuatable for pushing the selected character-bearing element radially outwardly relative to the drum against the action of the biasing means, and the drum is moved towards the platen simultaneously to the actuation of the hammer.

摘要： A power-driven typewriter comprising a shiftable carrier supporting a rotatable and axially movable, flexible type drum having a plurality of type characters therearound. Type keys, when depressed, each condition one each of two groups of actuators and cause operation of a drive member to operate the two conditioned actuators, one of which is effective to rotate the type drum from any position to a new position and the other is effective to raise the type drum to a selected position to thus align a type character corresponding to the key depressed at the printing point. Means are provided to dampen torsional oscillation of the type drum and its drive mechanism prior to printing. Readily interchangeable ink transfer ribbon cassettes for both fabric and for film ribbons are provided. Also, type drums having different type characters or type styles may be readily interchanged.

摘要： A serial printing device for an electronic calculating machine comprises a cylindrical type head movable with respect to the paper support and adapted to print numerical amounts and signs indicating the nature of the amounts in predetermined character positions of a row. The type head carries a plurality of digits and symbols disposed in two separate zones which are prearrangeable for printing by a shift mechanism connected to the type head by means of a differential. A character selector, connected to the type head through the differential is operable commonly for said digits and for said symbols, to select for printing a particular character in the zone of said two zones prearranged by said shift mechanism. The selector including a control unit, a plurality of electromagnetically actuated setting members and a rotating drum cooperating with said members as to be variably shifted. Programming means, responsive to the positions of the head with respect to the paper support control said shift mechanism for causing the type head to prearrange for printing, in each of said predetermined character positions of the row, the corresponding zone of numeric or symbolic characters.

摘要： A spring having one end slidably engaging a pin extending from a retractable, motion inducing member, for example a print hammer in a printing apparatus, is rotatably mounted adjacent to a movable member, such as a type wheel. An intermediate portion of the spring is formed to contact and bear against the shaft of the type wheel so that when the print hammer is retracted, the spring is rotated about its mounting. This rotation results in the intermediate portion of the spring biasing the type wheel toward the print hammer. When the print hammer is brought into striking engagement with the type wheel, the pin on the print hammer moves thereby reducing the biasing action of the spring on the type wheel. Thus, the type wheel is free to move after being struck by the print hammer, but subsequent retraction of the print hammer applies a bias through the spring to suppress bouncing motion of the type wheel.
