An organic compound, a three-dimensional organic structure formed by using the organic compound, a separation sieve and an optical layer having the organic structure, and an optical device having the optical layer as an optical amplification layer are provided. The organic structure includes a plurality of organic molecules self-assembled by non-covalent bonding. Each of the unit organic molecules has an aromatic ring, a first pair of substituents being connected to immediately adjacent positions of substitutable positions of the aromatic ring, and a second pair of substituents being connected to immediately adjacent positions of remaining substitutable positions of the aromatic ring. The unit organic molecules are self-assembled by van der Waals interaction, London dispersion interaction or hydrogen bonding between the first and the second pairs of the substituents and by pi-pi interactions between the aromatic rings.

The present invention provides a new class of solids supports for synthesis of modified oligomers of nucleic acids, and nucleic acid probes that have a format expediently synthesized on the new supports. Exemplary solid supports include at least one quencher bound through a linker to the solid support. Various exemplary embodiments include a moiety that stabilizes a duplex, triplex or higher order aggregation (e.g., hybridization) of nucleic acids of which the oligomer of the invention is a component. Other components of the solid support include moieties that stabilize aggregations of nucleic acids, e.g., intercalators, minor groove binding moieties, bases modified with a stabilizing moiety (e.g., alkynyl moieties, and fluoroalkyl moieties), and conformational stabilizing moieties, such as those described in commonly owned U.S. Patent Application Publication No. 2007/0059752.

A lamellar structure containing at least two binding compounds is assembled under conditions in which the binding compounds self-regulate in or on the lamellar structure, forming a cooperative ensemble that is capable of binding with enhanced affinity to a complementary affinity site on a target. Each binding compound is bound to the lamellar surface, and may be connected by a linker. The OMMC may contain an effector molecule, such as a diagnostic or therapeutic agent, for administration to a patent who is then diagnosed or treated using the effector molecule.

A method for preparing essentially pure 3,3′-diamino-4,4′-azoxyfurazan (“DAAF”) that involves reacting an aqueous solution that includes 3,4-diaminofurazan (“DAF”) with OXONE™ (i.e. 2KHSO5.KHSO4.K2SO4) in the presence of a chemical buffer or a material that produces a chemical buffer during the reaction between DAF and the OXONE™. The essentially pure product particles can be used without further purification in preparing pressed articles of that consist of essentially pure DAAF. When sodium hypochlorite is used instead of OXONE, the product is 3,3′-diamino-4,4′-azofurazan (“DAAzF”).

The present invention relates to a water-based black ink composition comprising a water-soluble black dye (A) exhibiting ozone fastness and a condensate compound (B) of 4,4′-dinitrostilbene-2,2′-disulfonic acid and aminobenzenes or a reduction product (C) thereof. Said ink composition is suitable for use in ink-jet recording, and realizes neutral hue and black color of high printing density. Further, a printed matter obtained is excellent in ozone gas fastness, light fastness, moisture fastness and color rendering properties. Still further, storage stability as a recording liquid is excellent.
