    摘要: Provided are PHA particles which are excellent in dispersibility in an aqueous dispersion and have excellent film formation capability, in which odor of a molded body obtained from the PHA particles or an aqueous dispersion of the PHA particles is suppressed, and whose color tone is good, and an aqueous dispersion of the PHA particles. Polyhydroxyalkanoate particles including polyhydroxyalkanoate having a particle shape and peptidoglycan covering a portion of or an entire surface of the polyhydroxyalkanoate. In this polyhydroxyalkanoate particle, a content of polyhydroxyalkanoate is 98.0% by weight or more, and a content of peptidoglycan is 0.1% by weight or more and 1.0% by weight or less.

    摘要: A method for producing starch soft capsules comprises the following steps: preparing a mixture comprising starch, plasticizer and water, wherein more than 50 weight percent of the starch is present in the form of particles of granular starch; shaping the mixture to form a film in a shaping process; solidifying the mixture by increasing the temperature of the mixture during and/or after the shaping process by more than 5° C.; and shaping the film to form a soft capsule. Soft capsules produced by this method have starch particles bonded to one another. A device for performing this method comprises a shaping device to enable shaping of the starch material to form a film, and a heating device to perform a heat treatment to destructure the starch during and/or after the shaping. It comprises a rotary die device.

    摘要: This specification discloses suspensions and method for making the suspensions. The suspension comprises a suspension medium and is loaded with an insoluble solid. The suspension medium is an aqueous solution made at least one soluble polymer and at least one thixotropic gum. The suspension medium can be loaded with high levels of solids (more than 15% by weight of the medium). The resulting suspension is highly stable and has low viscosity. In embodiments the suspension exhibits no significant sedimentation for at least 3 months, and has a viscosity of less than about 20,000 cP. In an illustrative embodiment, the suspensions may be used to improve the properties of corrugating adhesives by adding to a corrugating adhesive a suspension that has suspension medium comprising polyvinyl alcohol and gellan and that suspends unmodified high amylose starch.

    摘要: A styrenic composition including a polar modified styrenic co-polymer resulting from the polymerization of a combined mixture of at least one styrenic monomer and at least one comonomer and a biodegradable component is disclosed. The at least one comonomer includes a polar functional group and the polar modified styrenic co-polymer and the biodegradable component are combined to obtain a styrenic composition having a biodegradable component. Also disclosed is a method of enhancing bio-polymer miscibility in a styrenic based polymer. The polarity of a blend is manipulated by combining a styrenic monomer and a polar co-monomer to form a combined mixture and subjecting the combined mixture to polymerization to obtain a styrenic polymer blend to which a bio-polymer is added.
