摘要: Processes and apparatus are disclosed which substantially eliminate the formation of oxidized indigo dye before and during dye application onto a natural fiber yarn or fabric while allowing the leuco-indigo dye molecule to diffuse fully into the natural fibers of the yarn where it can fix to the fibers prior to oxidation (i.e., exposure of the leuco-dyed yarns to oxygen). Indigo dyed textile products (e.g., dyed cotton yarns that may be twill woven to form a denim fabric) exhibit exceptionally high colorfastness as determined by the AATCC Crock Test.

摘要: An apparatus for perforating a carbon fiber substrate material comprises a support structure including a first side support and a second side support and a cylindrical anvil rotatably connected between the first side support and the second side support. The anvil is configured to move the carbon fiber substrate material in response to rotation of the anvil. The apparatus further comprises a cylindrical cutting wheel rotatably connected to the support structure between the first side support and the second side support and positioned adjacent to the anvil. The cutting wheel includes a plurality of blades projecting outward from an outer surface of the cutting wheel wherein the blades of the cutting wheel are configured to perforate the carbon fiber substrate material when the carbon fiber substrate material moves between the anvil and the cutting wheel.

摘要: In an embodiment, a paint roller manufacturing system and method uses a fabric-coating applicator to apply a fabric adhesive onto a portion of a perforated paint roller cover fabric material having a plurality of perforations through which adhesive may flow, and into the plurality of perforations and into interstitial spaces of the fabric material, to yield a length of coated fabric. An inner strip and an outer strip are wound about a mandrel in offset relation. A strip-coating applicator is used to apply a strip adhesive to the outer strip as it is wound about the mandrel. Simultaneously with the step of applying the strip adhesive to the outer strip, a portion of the coated paint roller fabric material is received at the outer strip and the length of coated fabric is wound about at least the outer strip to form a paint roller tube.

摘要: A method and apparatus are described for controlling a coating head, which exerts a nip pressure to a fibrous web to be coated while the fibrous web is supported by a backing roll. An output signal of a sensor integrated within the backing roll is read, thus producing a measured indication of the nip pressure. A number of actuator control values are derived at least partly from said measured indication of the nip pressure. Said actuator control values are delivered as commands to a number of respective actuators that contribute to creating the nip pressure, to control an amount of a coating substance on the fibrous web in the coating head.

摘要: A washer that washes a continuous piece of tubular knitted fabric material. The washer includes a frame, a set of rollers, an air nozzle rack, and a controller. The frame rests on a support surface. The set of rollers are rotatably attached within the frame and guide the material through a washing liquid to wash the material. The air nozzle rack is replaceably attached to within the frame and blows air onto the material to cause ballooning of the material to maximize exposure of a total surface area of the material to the washing liquid. The controller is operatively connected to the set of rollers and minimizes and keeps constant the tension of the material as the material passes through the washing liquid under an influence of the air nozzle rack to thereby provide a more effective wash of the material.

摘要: A printing substrate is formed in a single operation by a method of forming and finishing a fabric web. The forming step creates a continuous fabric web. That fabric is sent to an accumulator, then downstream for finishing. The finishing step includes applying a printable coating via a knurled applicator, controlling the level of liquid in the applicator and compensating for knurled roller deflection. The finishing step further includes curing the coated fabric and selectively employing VOC hoods where needed.

摘要: A method for treating surfaces of textile is disclosed. A coating solution, in which a polymer with reactive groups is utilized to give various functions, such as hydrophobicity, anti-bacteria or hydrophilicity (hygroscopicity) is formed. The coating solution with different viscosities, specially low viscosity, 100 cps or less, can be continuously coated onto a surface of the textile by employing a surface treating technique of gravure coating and appropriately adjusting the gravure meshes. After drying, a highly durable, washable and firm textile with single or multi-functions, such as outer hydrophobic surface and inner anti-bacterial and (or) hydrophilic (hygroscopic) surface.

摘要: A roll coating machine for applying liquid materials onto sheet material workpieces. The machine has particular application in the area of coating flexible foam sheets with stiffening or adhesive agents. The roll coater incorporates mechanisms for controlling the spacing between coating rollers which apply the liquid materials onto one or both sides of the workpiece and enables automatic adjustment for various thickness of material. Automatic adjustment is provided through accurate force balancing of one of the rollers and applying a highly controlled net force acting on the rollers such that the rollers self-adjust based on compression of the workpiece. Another mechanism provided in the machine of this invention incorporates pre-gauging and a cam adjustment mechanism for setting separation distance which can be used independently or in conjunction with a force balancing approach mentioned previously.
