摘要: In the preferred embodiments, the present invention provides substantially improved slit sheet cushioning products by advantageously combining novel paper properties with novel slit patterns for improved features and characteristics. In some illustrative and non-limiting example embodiments, cushioning products of the present invention can include, e.g., a novel slit sheet material in combination with extensible paper employed as, e.g., a cushioning pad or as cushioning within an envelope product, wherein the cushioning product can be substantially more resilient, but, yet, e.g., thinner for better utilization of space.

摘要: The present invention provides multi-ply creped tissue products, and in particular embodiments creped wet-pressed tissue products, having substantially higher per-ply basis weights, such as from about 14.0 grams per square meter or greater. Despite having relatively high per-ply basis weights, the products are generally soft and flexible, such as having a softness value (measured as TS7) less than about 10.0 and a Stiffness Index less than about 20.0. While being soft and flexible, the tissue products are durable enough to withstand use, such as having a geometric mean tensile (GMT) greater than about 1,000 g/3″.

摘要: The device assists the customer in cleaning residue from their skin and body hair after they use a toilet for elimination, after they receive a cut or abrasion, or from other source. With the device, the person physically transforms toilet paper and other tissue-like paper in real time in a non-destructive manner to have greater texture, density, and wetness, all three of which together facilitate cleaning better than dry paper or than wet paper without such increased density and texture. Being pocket sized and intended for repeated use, the device can be easily carried by or on the person and used in any bathroom or location anywhere without modification to the plumbing facilities, without risk of running out of a supply of pre-moistened wipes, and without damaging the environment or sewage and septic systems.

摘要: An extensible slit sheet paper product is produced having an expandable slit pattern that forms open cells upon expansion of the paper product. The paper product is an extensible paper having an extensibility in the range from 1-9% in the machine direction and 1-5% in the cross direction. The expansion produces an array of hexagonal cells. The expanded extensible paper can be used to wrap an object for shipping by wrapping and cushioning the object in the expanded slit sheet material. The extensible, expandable slit sheet paper can be wrapped around itself to produce a void fill product.

摘要: A method for creping paper includes applying an adhesive composition to an outer surface of a creping cylinder (Yankee cylinder) to form an adhesive coating, contacting paper with the adhesive coating, removing the paper and adhesive coating from the creping cylinder, and determining a quality of the adhesive coating. Determining the quality of the adhesive coating may include measuring a degree of cross-linking of the adhesive polymer, a concentration of the adhesive polymer in the adhesive coating, a water content of the adhesive coating, an ash content of the adhesive coating, or combinations thereof. Determining the quality of the adhesive coating may also include determining a thickness of the adhesive coating by measuring light absorbed by the coating and calculating the thickness using Beer's Law. Systems and apparatuses for determining the quality of the adhesive coating and for creping paper are also disclosed.

摘要: A fibrous structure is disclosed. The fibrous structure exhibits a plurality of discrete knuckles arranged in a pattern of repeat units. The repeat units can include a plurality of rows arranged orthogonally in an X-Y plane, each row having a portion of the discrete knuckles, and each discrete knuckle separated from adjacent discrete knuckles in a row by a distance. Each of the discrete knuckles within the repeat unit can have substantially the same shape and size; and wherein the distance between at least two adjacent discrete knuckles in each row are non-uniform such that the repeat unit exhibits varying pillow width distances along the rows in both the X and Y axes.
