摘要: Methods, systems, and vehicles that control the temperature of a device included in the vehicle are presented herein. The temperature of the device is controlled by ventilating the device with drivetrain air, such as transmission cooling air. In some embodiments, the device is at a greater temperature than the drivetrain air, which cools the device. In other embodiments, the device is at a lesser temperature than the drivetrain air, which heats the device. The drivetrain air is provided to the device through an exhaust duct coupled to the vehicle's transmission. The drivetrain exhaust air is preferably circulated by the transmission. The transmission may be a continuously variable transmission. The device may be an oxygen sensor that is coupled to an engine exhaust pipe. The oxygen sensor is thermally coupled to the engine exhaust and the engine exhaust pipe, which are at greater temperatures than the transmission exhaust air.

摘要: A vehicle comprising: an internal combustion engine having a cylinder and an exhaust manifold for collecting exhaust gases expelled from the cylinder; an exhaust system configured to channel exhaust gases along a flow path from the exhaust manifold to an exhaust outlet, the exhaust system comprising an exhaust component configured to cause an alteration to engine-generated sound pulses passing through the exhaust component; and a sound bypass device comprising a sound inlet port at a first location on the exhaust system before a first exhaust component along the flow path and a sound outlet port at a second location on the exhaust system after the first exhaust component along the flow path, the sound bypass device being configured to transmit engine-generated sound pulses from the sound inlet port to the sound outlet port whilst preventing flow of exhaust gases from the sound inlet port to the sound outlet port.

摘要: Constraints on arrangement of catalysts are reduced, and early activation and long-term performance maintenance of the catalysts are both achieved. An exhaust pipe includes a first catalyst provided in a first exhaust pipe extending upward on the side of an exhaust manifold, and a second catalyst provided in a second exhaust pipe that extends downward from a bent pipe extending from the first exhaust pipe and that is adjacent to the first exhaust pipe. The second catalyst is disposed at a position offset to a higher location from an up-down middle position of the first exhaust pipe.

摘要: An aftertreatment device includes flow guides disposed within a dosing conduit. Exhaust enters through a perforated region of the dosing conduit and passes through the flow guides. The flow guides induce swirling or other turbulence to mix injected reactant with the exhaust gas. Various types of flow guides include cantilevered vanes, guide passageways, and louvered openings of a second conduit. Some types of flow guides induce localized mixing to inhibit deposit formation at the doser mounting unit. Other types of flow guides induce mixing downstream of the dosing conduit.
