The housing is flow-connected to the combustion chamber via at least one transfer port, and the internal combustion engine is formed to inject fuel into the transfer port, against the transfer port from the crank housing into the combustion chamber; the internal combustion engine has at least one cylinder having two injectors, and fuel can be introduced by means of only one injector with a first engine load and by means of the two injectors with a second engine load.

摘要: Embodiments describe a method of controlling a two-stroke internal combustion engine is shown. The method includes selecting one set of two or more sets of engine parameter inputs or a weighted value of two or more sets of engine parameter inputs, determining an engine output parameter from the selection, and utilizing the determined engine output parameter to control one or more engine operations; re-selecting one set of two or more sets of engine parameter inputs or a weighted value of two or more sets of engine parameter inputs during engine operation, utilizing the reselected output parameters to adjust one or more engine operations. Each set of engine parameter inputs includes a direct measurement of crankcase pressure and engine speed and optionally one or more of barometric pressure, exhaust valve position, air temperature, engine coolant temperature, exhaust temperature, boost pressure, crankshaft position and direction of rotation, humidity, fuel pressure, fuel temperature, detonation sensor level, exhaust oxygen content, and throttle valve angle.

摘要: A variable volume chamber device is disclosed. The chambers may be defined by the space between four pivotally connected vanes contained within two side plates. The vanes may be connected so as to create a sealed interior chamber that may be used as a combustion chamber in an internal combustion engine, or as a pumping chamber in a pump or compressor. The four vane assembly may also form additional variable volume chambers between the vanes and a surrounding structure. The plurality of variable volume chambers may be interconnected to progressively act on a working fluid.

Specifically, this is an engine with two crankshafts, two piston heads facing each other in a single cylinder, with the following features: compact size relative to a comparable design, improved or equivalent performance to a comparable design as a result of any of the following: locating crankshafts in a different plane from the cylinder axes; the use of shared duct structures; and the use of an embedded compressor chamber for efficient operation to cover all volumetric requirements, fulfilling the entire thermodynamic cycle, and performing in addition the sweeping and overloading of air or an air/fuel mixture in the cylinder combustion chamber in each revolution of two or more crankshafts, either with or without advancement between the crankshafts.

摘要: An exhaust valve assembly for a two-stroke internal combustion engine has a valve actuator, and a two-part valve having a primary and secondary valves defining first and second decompression passages respectively. The primary valve is operatively connected to the valve actuator. The primary valve is in first, second and third primary valve positions when the valve actuator is in first, second and third actuator positions respectively. The secondary valve is in a first secondary valve position when the valve actuator is in the first or the second actuator position and in a second secondary valve position when the valve actuator is in the third actuator position. The first and second valve decompression passages fluidly communicate with each other when the valve actuator is in the second actuator position, and are fluidly separate from each other when the valve actuator is the first or the third actuator position.

The breather chamber has formed therein a labyrinth structure in which gas-liquid separation of the oil mist is performed. An introduction pipe forming a part of the breather passage is communicated with an upper portion of the crank chamber, and projects upward from an upper end portion of the crank case.

摘要: Internal combustion engines that operate in an inverted orientation in which the piston is closer to the local gravitationally dominant terrestrial body's center of gravity at top dead center position than at bottom dead center position are disclosed. The engines may have non-circular, preferably rectangular, cross-section pistons and cylinders, and the pistons may include a skirt with a field of pockets that provide a ringless, non-lubricated, seal equivalent. The pistons also may have a domed piston head with depressions thereon to facilitate the movement of air/charge in the cylinder. The engines also may use multi-stage poppet valves in lieu of conventional poppet valves, and a split crankshaft. The engines may use the pumping motion of the engine piston to supercharge the cylinder with air/charge.

摘要: To allow an intake negative pressure to directly act on a fuel outlet formed on a nozzle tube, and to guide a fuel discharged from the fuel outlet in the nozzle tube to the fuel-air mixture passage. A rotary carburetor (200) has a guide plate member (42) downstream of a fuel outlet (30) located in a through-hole (14). The guide plate member (42) has both side edges (42b) away from an inner wall surface (14a) of the through-hole (14). The through-hole (14) is divided by the guide plate member (42) into a first passage portion (44) and a second passage portion (46). The first passage portion (44) communicates through a piston groove with a scavenging passage of a cylinder. The fuel discharged from the fuel outlet (30) is guided by the guide plate member (42) to the second passage portion (46) and is supplied through the second passage portion (46) to a fuel-air mixture passage (24) of an engine intake system.

摘要: To meet stringent emission standards and improve performance of two-stroke crankcase-scavenged engines, the muffler (13) of the engine is provided with mixing means (130, 31) for mixing the exhaust gases (42) resulting from the mixture participating in combustion and gases resulting from scavenging, so that a substantially homogenous gaseous mixture is formed within the muffler (13), and means (81) for sensing oxygen concentration is located in the homogeneous gaseous mixture and are configured to provide an output value to a control unit (80) for controlling supply of fuel to the engine and thereby the air-fuel ratio in the combustion chamber (41). The muffler (13) suitably is provided with a catalytic element (140), preferably a three-way catalyst. The engine (1) preferably is a stratified charge engine.
