摘要: A fuel injector assembly in one embodiment includes a nozzle, at least one needle, and at least one actuator. The nozzle includes at least one cavity in fluid communication with nozzle openings. The at least one needle is movably disposed within the at least one cavity, and prevents flow through the nozzle openings in a closed position. The at least one actuator is configured to move the at least one needle within the cavity. The at least one actuator is configured to move the at least one needle to at least a first fuel delivery configuration and a second fuel delivery configuration. A first amount of fuel is delivered through the nozzle openings with the at least one needle in the first fuel delivery configuration, and a second amount of fuel is delivered through the nozzle openings with the at least one needle in the second fuel delivery configuration.

摘要: A control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a turbocharger, a bypass passage, a waste gate valve, a turbo bypass valve, an air-fuel ratio sensor and an electronic control unit. The air-fuel ratio sensor is provided in an exhaust passage downstream of a merging point at which the bypass passage merges with the exhaust passage. The electronic control unit is configured to, when a predetermined acceleration request is established and a required opening degree of the turbo bypass valve is larger than a predetermined reference opening degree, execute air-fuel ratio control for changing an air-fuel ratio of exhaust gas from the internal combustion engine for a predetermined first period, and close the waste gate valve based on a convergence status of detected air-fuel ratio fluctuations. The detected air-fuel ratio fluctuations are fluctuations in air-fuel ratio that is detected by the air-fuel ratio sensor resulting from the air-fuel ratio control.

A first period between the first and second loops corresponds to: a first delay period of an oxygen sensor; and a second delay period for exhaust to flow from a cylinder of an engine to the oxygen sensor. A closed loop module determines a closed loop correction for the second loop based on: the delayed base request for the second loop; a measurement from the oxygen sensor; the closed loop correction for the first loop; and the closed loop correction for a third loop. A second period between the second and third loops corresponds to the first delay period of the oxygen sensor. A summer module sets a final request for the second loop based on the base request plus the closed loop correction for the second loop.

摘要: A control system for an engine cylinder having a pre-chamber and a main chamber includes a pressure sensor being provided in the pre-chamber, and a processor coupled to the pressure sensor. The processor is configured to measure pre-chamber pressure using the pressure sensor, determine a peak pre-chamber pressure from the measured pre-chamber pressure, calculate an estimated main chamber pressure corresponding to the peak pre-chamber pressure from at least one cylinder condition at ignition, calculate a pressure ratio of the peak pre-chamber pressure to the estimated main chamber pressure, calculate a fuel parameter for at least one of the pre-chamber and main chamber from the pressure ratio to achieve a desired pressure ratio, and generate a control signal to provide fuel to at least one of the pre-chamber and main chamber in accordance with the fuel parameter.

摘要: An electronic control unit (ECU) of an internal combustion engine, which includes an air-fuel ratio sensor arranged at a downstream side of an exhaust purification catalyst, is configured to judge if a state of the air-fuel ratio sensor is normal or abnormal based on the first characteristic of change of air-fuel ratio and, if a judgment cannot be made based on the first characteristic, the ECU is configured to judge if the state of the air-fuel ratio sensor is normal or abnormal based on a second characteristic of change of air-fuel ratio. As a result, it is possible to suppress the effects of the change of state of the exhaust purification catalyst while accurately diagnosing the abnormality of deterioration of response of a downstream side air-fuel ratio sensor.

摘要: To meet stringent emission standards and improve performance of two-stroke crankcase-scavenged engines, the muffler (13) of the engine is provided with mixing means (130, 31) for mixing the exhaust gases (42) resulting from the mixture participating in combustion and gases resulting from scavenging, so that a substantially homogenous gaseous mixture is formed within the muffler (13), and means (81) for sensing oxygen concentration is located in the homogeneous gaseous mixture and are configured to provide an output value to a control unit (80) for controlling supply of fuel to the engine and thereby the air-fuel ratio in the combustion chamber (41). The muffler (13) suitably is provided with a catalytic element (140), preferably a three-way catalyst. The engine (1) preferably is a stratified charge engine.

摘要: An individual cylinder air-fuel ratio estimation of estimating an air-fuel ratio of an individual cylinder is performed on a sensed value of an air-fuel ratio sensor set in an exhaust gas collection part of an engine, and an individual cylinder air-fuel ratio control of controlling the air-fuel ratio of the individual cylinder is performed in such a way that a variation in the air-fuel ratio between the cylinders becomes small on the basis of an estimated air-fuel ratio of the individual cylinder. Further, it is determined whether or not a misfire of the engine is caused and when it is determined that the misfire of the engine is caused, the individual cylinder air-fuel ratio estimation and the individual cylinder air-fuel ratio control are stopped and an individual cylinder correction value by the individual cylinder air-fuel ratio control is reset. In this way, it is possible to avoid the individual cylinder air-fuel ratio control from being performed continuously as usual in a state where the air-fuel ratio of the individual cylinder cannot be controlled correctly due to the effect of the misfire.
