    摘要: A method for a combustion engine has a working cycle of three revolutions of the crankshaft. The method includes: feeding a fuel mixture into a combustion chamber of a cylinder while moving a piston from a second top dead-center to a first bottom dead-center; compressing an air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber while moving the piston from the first bottom dead-center to a first top dead-center; burning the air-fuel mixture while moving the piston from the first top dead-center to a second bottom dead-center; compressing a gas mixture in the combustion chamber while moving the piston from the second bottom dead-center to the first top dead-center; burning the gas mixture while moving the piston from the first top dead-center to the first bottom dead-center; and expelling the gas mixture from the combustion chamber while moving the piston from the first bottom dead-center to the second top dead-center.

    摘要: Split-cycle internal combustion engine comprising at least one compressor cylinder and at least one combustion cylinder each associated with a relating piston and a relating head, equipped with at least one admission valve and one exhaust valve of the combustor piston, first controller of the at least one admission valve and second controller of the at least one exhaust valve, the piston of the combustion cylinder is associated with a crankshaft by a crank mechanism and when the engine is in a firing condition the second controller is arranged to cause a first opening event of the at least one exhaust valve in a first predetermined angular position of the crankshaft and when the engine is in the engine braking condition the second controller is arranged to reposition the first event in a second predetermined angular position out of phase by 180 degrees with respect to the first angular position.

    摘要: A two-stroke engine possesses a cylinder, in the cylinder bore of which a combustion chamber is formed. The combustion chamber is bounded by a reciprocating piston, which drives a crankshaft rotatably mounted in a crankcase. A crankcase interior is fluidically connected to the combustion chamber across at least one transfer channel in at least one position of the piston. The at least one transfer channel emerges with a discharge opening in the crankcase interior and with at least one transfer window on the cylinder bore. It is proposed that all transfer channels have an average length as measured from the discharge opening to the transfer window, the average length being at least 1.5 in relation to the stroke, and that the volume of the crankcase interior including all transfer channels is at most 3.1 in relation to the piston displacement.

    摘要: The present invention relates to a two strokes per cycle Scotch Yoke engine that completes four power strokes per revolution per pair of pistons/cylinders by using both sides of each piston as a combustion chamber. This doubles the power to weight ratio over previous scotch yoke engines and quadruples the power to weight ratio over conventional 4 stroke cycle engines. The present invention is capable of operating in and withstanding the forces of either deflagration (subsonic) and pulse detonation (supersonic) cycles, and is capable of homogeneous charge compression ignition. The present invention can also be an internal/external combustion gas/steam hybrid. The present invention can operate under constant volume or constant pressure cycles as well as most thermal cycles of operation (EG the Otto and Diesel cycle). The present invention works best when using a modified Humphrey cycle to achieve homogeneous charge compression ignition pulse detonation engine using constant volume combustion.
