摘要: A quenching system for a plant, operating a cracking furnace, works with liquid as well as gaseous starting materials. The quenching system includes a primary heat exchanger (PQE 10) and a secondary heat exchanger (SQE 11) and a tertiary heat exchanger. A TLX-D exchanger (TLX-D 26) is arranged and configured as the tertiary heat exchanger for dual operation. The TLX-D (26) is connected in series via a TLX-D gas feed line (24) to the SQE 11. The TLX-D (26) is connected to a steam drum (59), which is connected to a feed water line (49), via a TLX-D feed water drain line (34) and a TLX-D riser (46) and a TLX-D downcomer (38). 摘要: A hybrid closed circuit heat exchanger having a dry indirect section and an evaporative indirect section. The evaporative indirect section has multiple sub-sections. An evaporative fluid distribution system is configured to selectively distribute evaporative fluid over all, part, or none of the sub-sections. A process fluid flow path control system is configured to selectively direct the process fluid through one or more sub-sections. The process fluid flow path control system may send all of the process fluid through two or more sub-sections in equal amounts or in different amounts. There is preferably no evaporative heat exchange section bypass flow path.

An example embodiment includes: a base structure; and a rack column supported by the base structure, the rack column in thermal coupling with a heat-generating device, the rack column containing a constrained vapor bubble (CVB) cell cluster including a plurality of cells in thermal coupling with the heat-generating device at a first end in an evaporator region and in thermal coupling with the base structure at a second end in a condenser region, each cell of the plurality of cells having a wickless capillary driven CVB heat pipe embedded in the cell, each wickless capillary driven CVB heat pipe including a body having a capillary therein with generally square corners and a high energy interior surface, and a highly wettable liquid partially filling the capillary to dissipate heat between the evaporator region and the condenser region.

摘要: A cooling apparatus for a container-based data center includes an air handling housing, at least one movable louver, a filter and a fan. The housing is configured for suspending from a ceiling of the container and comprises at least one heat exchanger. The louver is movable to direct air flow along different paths within the housing according to a selected operating mode. The fan is positioned in the housing and controllable according to the selected operating mode. The heat exchanger is configured in a self-contained water chilling circuit positioned within the container for use in a closed loop mode. The apparatus is convertible for use in an economizer mode that draws outside air into the container. An optional auxiliary heat exchanger element has a cold side heat exchange portion positioned outside the container and a connection through the ceiling to a hot side heat exchange portion positioned within the housing.
