摘要: A switching assembly selectively routes power received from upstream power distribution systems over power transmission lines to a downstream electrical load using data signals communicated to the assembly from the power distribution systems over the power transmission lines. The switching assembly monitors information in the data signals to determine conditions in the upstream power distribution systems. The switching assembly can use the conditions in the power distribution systems and monitored power feed characteristics of power received at the switching assembly to determine whether to command a switching mechanism to switch the power feed routed to the load. Power system conditions can be used to adjust tolerance thresholds against which power feed characteristics are compared to determine whether to command a switch. The switching assembly can include an interposer device that controls the switching mechanism based on analysis of data signals received over the power transmission line.

摘要: A power distribution grid for a facility, such as a data center, is located within the facility. The power distribution grid includes a plurality of power transport elements arranged in a grid pattern and nodes located at intersections of the grid pattern. Electrical loads are supplied power via respective nodes of the power distribution grid. Also, each node is supplied power from more than two transport elements, such that one or more transport elements can fail and electrical loads connected to a particular node associated with the failed transport elements continue to receive electrical power supplied to the particular node from at least two different transport elements.

摘要: A data center includes one or more racks, one or more computing devices coupled to at least one of the racks, and one or more air moving devices. The computing devices include heat producing components. The computing devices may be inclined in the rack such that the lower ends of the computing devices are at a lower elevation than the higher ends of the computing devices. The air moving devices can move air from the lower end of the inclined computing devices to the higher end of the inclined computing devices such that heat is removed from heat producing components in the inclined computing devices.

摘要: A portable data center includes a cooling system comprising a cooling circuit, one or more air plenums, and one or more air moving devices. The cooling circuit circulates a heat transfer fluid through a portion of the cooling circuit that passes through the one or more air plenums. The heat transfer fluid that passes through the one or more air plenums cools air flowing through the one or more air plenums via the one or more air moving devices. The cooling circuit also circulates the heat transfer through a separate portion of the portable data center where heat is rejected from the heat transfer fluid into the separate portion of the portable data center. In some embodiments, the air plenums and at least a portion of the cooling circuit are mounted in a sub-floor space between a platform within the portable data center and an outer structure of the portable data center.

摘要: A virtual temperature monitoring system in a data center communicates with servers mounted in racks to receive internal temperature data generated by internal temperature sensors of the servers. The system derives a virtual sensor measurement of external temperatures external to the server, including a portion of a cold aisle that extends proximate to a rack in which the server is mounted, based upon a relationship between the received internal temperature sensors and the external environment. Sensor data from other sensors can be received via a building management system, and building management signals to the building management system can be generated based at least partially on the virtual sensor data. The virtual sensor data can be used to generate a graphical representation of the servers that highlights relative thermal characteristics of the servers based on the virtual external sensor measurements, including heat indices, excursions beyond thresholds, historical excursion histories, etc.
