    摘要: A method (45) for determining the total pressure in a cylinder (Pcyl) of an engine as a function of the angular position (crk) of a crankshaft (14) and from a quantity of fuel to be injected in possibly several injections, includes: determining the pressure in the cylinder when there is no combustion, the pressure being called the pressure without combustion (Pcyl_m), determining, for each injection (inji), a curve of sub-variation of pressure (ΔPcomb_i) caused by the combustion of the fuel quantity injected during the such injection (inji), the shape of the curve being estimated as a function of the quantity of fuel to be injected (MFi) and of the angular position for start of injection (SOIi) of the corresponding injection, determining the total pressure in the cylinder (Pcyl) by adding together the pressure without combustion (Pcyl_m) and the pressures given by the pressure sub-variation curves (ΔPcomb_i) of each injection (inji).

This deviation of the mean pressure is calculated from detected changes in the rotational speed of the engine.

    摘要: To obtain a digital signal representative of the average value of the frequency of a V.C.O. 11, a monostable is used to produce fixed length pulses at an indeterminate frequency. These pulses are counted by a control counter and enable a gate to pass the V.C.O. output to a counter connected as a frequency divider. Both of these counters are preset with the same count state and the "borrow" outputs from the dividing counter are counted in a signal counter, the number of "borrow" pulses received in the time taken for the control counter to count to its preset state being the required digital signal.

As another form, a processing circuit can be adopted which includes at least one or more amplifier circuits which amplify an output signal from an integrator circuit and a base voltage adjustment circuit which is connected between a supply portion of a reference voltage fed to the amplifier circuit and an input terminal of at least one of the amplifier circuits and which adjusts the magnitude of a base voltage that is a potential when a detection signal in an output signal output from the amplifier circuit is not present.

    摘要: An apparatus for measuring instantaneous values of pressure in the cylinders of a reciprocating engine and/or for computing the mean indicated pressure. A transducer associated with each cylinder senses the pressure at moments determined by sensing means co-operating with markings provided on a part of the engine, which effects a reciprocating movement synchronously with the movement of the piston. The markings may have the shape of equidistantly disposed teeth of uniform width and may be provided on the piston rod or on a piston coolant carrying telescopic tube. The sensing means may be of an inductive type which generates control pulses whenever a marking is passing by. The signals from the transducer and the sensing means are transmitted to an electronic calculator associated with a display for computing and visualizing the mean indicated pressure and other engine parameters.

    摘要: An electronic measurement system for monitoring and measuring indicated horsepower (IHP) of piston type engines which may be spark-ignition, diesel, steam or other power type, based on two or more cycles of operation. Indicated horsepower (IHP) is computed for each engine cylinder in sequential fashion and is based on measurements of cylinder pressure and crankshaft angle of rotation versus time. The system hereof is also operable to measure revolutions per minute of the engine shaft, as well as combustion and compression pressures (just before ignition).
