摘要: Methods and systems for diagnosing operation of an exhaust gas recirculation system of an internal combustion engine are described. In one example, the EGR system is diagnosed while an engine that includes the EGR system is not rotating and combusting fuel. The EGR system is diagnosed when the engine is not operating so that vehicle passengers are not disturbed by the diagnostic and so that flow estimates through the EGR system may not be disturbed by pressure changes that may be related to combustion within the engine.

摘要: A control device for a vehicle includes a driver request torque detection unit that detects a driver request torque, a restriction torque calculation unit that calculates a restriction torque being smaller than the driver request torque based on an external request, a corrected torque calculation unit that calculates a corrected torque being greater than the restriction torque, and an engine control unit that controls positions of a throttle valve and an exhaust bypass valve. The engine control unit controls the positions of the throttle valve and the exhaust bypass valve based on the driver request torque during an ordinary drive, and if a prescribed drive condition is satisfied, the engine control unit controls the position of the throttle valve based on the restriction torque and controls the position of the exhaust bypass valve based on the corrected torque.

摘要: A method of firing a spark plug of an internal combustion engine includes supplying AC power to the spark plug in which the AC power has a waveform with a rising edge and a falling edge, activating the spark plug during the rising edge of the waveform, and deactivating the spark plug during the falling edge of the waveform. This method further includes connecting an engine control module to an ignition coil and connecting the engine coil to the spark plug. The firing of the ignition coil mirrors the square waveform of AC power from the engine control module. A battery is connected to the engine control module.

摘要: A control device for an internal combustion engine includes ignition timing control circuitry, exhaust gas amount control circuitry, calculation circuitry, and retard circuitry. The exhaust gas amount control circuitry is configured to control an amount of exhaust gas recirculated to an intake passage via an exhaust gas recirculation passage. The calculation circuitry is configured to calculate an exhaust gas recirculation ratio of an exhaust gas amount in a combustion chamber to an entire gas amount in the combustion chamber. The retard circuitry is configured to retard ignition timing such that the ignition timing is on a retard side with respect to an optimum ignition timing at which the engine outputs maximum torque and such that the ignition timing is before a compression process end timing in a cylinder if the exhaust gas recirculation ratio is higher than a threshold ratio.

摘要: It is an object of the present invention to provide a control device for an internal combustion engine capable of appropriately controlling compression ratio and ignition timing before the target compression ratio that is set according to humidity is attained. A control device for an internal combustion engine controls the internal combustion engine including a cylinder, humidity detection means for detecting humidity of outside air supplied to the cylinder, a variable compression ratio mechanism for changing a compression ratio of the cylinder, and an ignition device igniting air-fuel mixture in the cylinder, and the control device includes: a compression ratio control unit controlling the variable compression ratio mechanism; and an ignition control unit controlling ignition timing of the ignition device, wherein corresponding characteristics between compression ratio and ignition timing are determined for each humidity according to a predetermined condition of an operation state of the internal combustion engine, the compression ratio control unit determines a target compression ratio of the variable compression ratio mechanism according to the detected humidity, and while the variable compression ratio mechanism changes a compression ratio to the target compression ratio, the ignition control unit controls the ignition device on the basis of corresponding characteristics determined according to the detected humidity.

摘要: An EGR rate estimation method using an EGR valve opening area involves aggravated EGR rate estimation accuracy as an EGR valve is deteriorated and is unable to satisfy required accuracy when a target EGR rate is high. With a method for correcting a fuel injection amount by a fuel injection valve through estimation of a purge air-fuel ratio on the basis of variations in an air-fuel ratio variable depending on whether purging is performed, the fuel injection correction fails to accommodate the change in the air-fuel ratio when concentration of fuel evaporative emissions adsorbed by an activated carbon of a canister is high, resulting in reduced conversion efficiency of a catalyst. An arrangement includes an introduction port that is disposed in an intake pipe and through which a gas other than fresh air flows in the intake pipe and humidity sensors disposed upstream and downstream, respectively, of the introduction port. The EGR rate or the purge air-fuel ratio in the intake pipe is estimated using detection values of the respective humidity sensors.

摘要: An ECU outputs an ignition signal and a discharge waveform control signal. An ignition device closes an ignition switching element in a period during which the ignition signal is input. After a stop of the input of the ignition signal and in a period of input of the discharge waveform control signal, the ignition device controls current flowing through a primary coil to a discharge current command value that is determined by the discharge waveform control signal by opening or closing a control switching element. A discharge control unit determines whether there is an abnormality. When it is determined that there is an abnormality, the ECU avoids control executed by the discharge control unit, and causes the discharge control unit to execute control during times of low-rotation and low-load operation of an internal combustion engine in order to determine whether the discharge control unit has returned to a normal state.

摘要: A combustion control apparatus for an internal combustion engine includes a spark plug for performing spark ignition of an air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber, a plurality of coil pairs for generating spark discharge in the spark plug, and a fuel injection valve capable of injecting atomized fuel. Atomized fuel is injected into the intake passage, and a homogeneous lean air-fuel mixture is formed in the combustion chamber. The air-fuel ratio of the air-fuel mixture in the combustion chamber is controlled to be leaner than a predetermined lean air-fuel ratio. A spark discharge start timing and a spark discharge continuation time period are controlled using the plurality of coil pairs. The spark discharge start timing is set to a timing advanced from the spark discharge start timing for igniting a stratified lean mixture, such that the air-fuel ratio in the vicinity of the spark plug is relatively small.

The controller (50) is configured to reduce the output toque of the engine (10), in accordance with the engagement degree of the lockup clutch (202f) controlled by a lockup control.

摘要: A target air amount for achieving a requested torque is back-calculated from the requested torque using a virtual air-fuel ratio. The virtual air-fuel ratio is changed from a first air-fuel ratio to a second air-fuel ratio in response to a condition for switching an operation mode being satisfied. After the virtual air-fuel ratio is changed, the target air-fuel ratio is maintained at the first air-fuel ratio until the ignition timing reaches a retardation limit. Subsequently, in response to the ignition timing reaching the retardation limit, the target air-fuel ratio is switched from the first air-fuel ratio to a third air-fuel ratio. After switching of the target air-fuel ratio, in response to a difference between the target air amount and an estimated air amount becoming equal to or less than a threshold value, the target air-fuel ratio is switched from the third air-fuel ratio to the second air-fuel ratio.
