    摘要: The system includes a data storage medium comprising cells, an excitation circuit, and an emitter. The cells arranged in a three dimensional space. The excitation circuit excites each cell independently. Exciting a cell changes an optical property of the cell. The emitter emits a first beam onto a first cell during a first excitation period to orient electrical charges within the first cell to a first oriented value and intensity of electric field to a first intensity value. The emitter emits a second beam onto a second cell during a second excitation period to orient electrical charges within the second cell to a second oriented value and intensity of electric field to a second intensity value. The first and second cells maintain the first and the second oriented values and the first and second intensity values after the first and second excitation periods are over, respectively.

    摘要: Provided are an optical information reproduction device and a method therefor with which the influence of reference light reflected from the surface of a disk can be reduced, thereby enabling data to be reproduced in a stable manner in an optical information reproduction device that uses holography. The information reproduction device, which reproduces from a recording medium information that has been recorded on the recording medium by the formation of a hologram, is equipped with: a light output unit that emits laser light; an optical system that generates reference light from the laser light emitted from the light output unit; an objective lens that reproduction signal light reproduced by the reference light with which the recording medium has been irradiated enters; a light detector that receives the reproduction signal light propagated by the objective lens; a medium-reflected light reduction unit that reduces the amount of medium-reflected light (generated when the recording medium reflects the reference light) with which the light detector is irradiated; and a control unit that controls the operation of the information reproduction device.

    摘要: An optical disc apparatus includes a synchronizer that generates a reproduction clock signal synchronized with a reproduction signal of information recorded in an optical disc medium, and generates a digital reproduction signal synchronized with the reproduction clock signal, an adaptive equalizer that generates a post-adaptive-equalization digital reproduction signal, and a maximum likelihood decoder that performs maximum likelihood decoding of the post-adaptive-equalization digital reproduction signal to generate a binary signal. The apparatus also includes an expected waveform generator that generates an expected waveform from the binary signal, a phase-advance waveform generator that generates a phase-advance waveform, a phase-delay waveform generator that generates a phase-delay waveform, and a metric detector that detects a phase error. In the optical disc apparatus, the synchronizer controls the phase of the digital reproduction signal using the phase error.
