    摘要: A sub-miniature lamp in which a lamp body having a filament and an envelope is covered with a soft silicone rubber cap of a predetermined color having an opening at one end to a predetermined length of lead wires extending from the lamp body. A closure member is fitted to the opening of the envelope to seal the opening. The colored silicone rubber cap covers the envelope of the lamp body and is extended to a predetermined length of the lead wires, with the opened end of the cap fitted with an adhesive agent or a disc pad.

    摘要: An infra-red lamp consists of a quartz tubular envelope sealed at each end with a respective pinch seal. A tungsten filament supported within the envelope is electrically connected, via a molybdenum foil strip and lead wires within the pinch seal to a connector for connection to a power supply. Each pinch seal is substantially wholly enclosed within a ceramic housing, which is preferably provided with a locating flange, to protect the pinch seal in part from heat emitted by the filament and to assist in location of the lamp in an operating environment.

    摘要: Bonding of an element comprising sapphire, ruby or blue sapphire to another element of such material with a eutectic mixture of aluminum oxide and zirconium oxide. The bonding mixture may be applied in the form of a distilled water slurry or by electron beam vapor deposition. In one embodiment the eutectic is formed in situ by applying a layer of zirconium oxide and then heating the assembly to a temperature above the eutectic temperature and below the melting point of the material from which the elements are formed. The formation of a sapphire rubidium maser cell utilizing eutectic bonding is shown.

    摘要: A high temperature heater lamp including a ceramic envelope is disclosed. The ceramic envelope is substantially infrared transparent and is composed of a refractory ceramic. The heater lamp also includes two lead wires communicatively coupled via a filament. The filament is enclosed within the ceramic envelope, which is evacuated. The heater lamp may include at least two metallic IR shields within the ceramic envelope, at least one located on either side of the filament. The filament may be tungsten, a carbon filament, or molybdenum. At least one end of the ceramic envelope may be sealed with a metal cap affixed to the ceramic envelope by a high vacuum sealant. The heater lamp may be configured to operate at above 1500° C. The ceramic envelope may have a wall thickness less than 1 mm thick.

    摘要: A hermetic container which can improve its stress resistance and its buckling strength and prevent deformation due to the atmospheric pressure. The space between the anode substrate and the cathode substrate in the hermetic container can be stably maintained. Anode conductors and fluorescent substance layers are formed on the inner surface of the anode substrate. Electron sources are formed on the inner surface of the cathode substrate so as to confront the corresponding display portions on the anode substrate. In order to complete a container, the anode substrate is spaced from the cathode substrate a predetermined distance apart and the fringe portions of the substrates are sealed. A supporting member is disposed in the container. The supporting member 15 consists of a plate in which plural through holes are formed at predetermined intervals and reinforcing supports which are respectively inserted into the through holes of the plate and of which the middle portions are bonded at the inlets of the through holes. Each reinforcing support has one end in contact with an inner surface of the anode substrate and the other end in contact with an inner surface of the cathode substrate. Each reinforcing support maintains the gap between the anode substrate and the cathode substrate at a fixed distance.

    摘要: For mounting a lamp that comprises a glass envelope including a seal and a glass exhaust tube having a tip projecting from the seal, there is provided a base having a cavity for receiving the seal and the exhaust-tube tip. Within the cavity about the seal and the tip is a hard cement for fixedly positioning the envelope within the cavity. Surrounding the tip and located between the tip and the adjacent cement is a thin layer of soft material that can yield in response to forces developed thereon by thermal expansion and contraction of the cement, thereby protecting the tip from being cracked by these forces. The hard cement extends into contact with the glass seal about a substantial portion of the seal's exterior surface so that the hard cement is able to fixedly position the envelope relative to the base without interference from the softer material about the tip.

    摘要: An envelope for a flat panel display device is comprised of two portions which respectively include a baseplate and a faceplate held in a spaced parallel relationship by a plurality of side walls. A plurality of support walls supports the envelope against collapse from atmospheric pressure. Differences in the heights of the side walls and support walls are compensated for by a flexible seal which extends around the periphery of the envelope so that the faceplate and baseplate and side walls are coupled through the flexible seal.
