摘要: A generator system includes a permanent magnet synchronous generator, a high-frequency matrix converter, a center-tapped high-frequency transformer and a full-bridge converter. An output port of the permanent magnet synchronous generator is connected to a three-phase input of the high-frequency matrix converter. Positive and negative output poles of the high-frequency matrix converter are connected to a primary side of the center-tapped high-frequency transformer. The primary side of the high-frequency transformer is connected to a center tap and then connected to the middle pole of the center-tapped high-frequency matrix converter, and the secondary side of the center-tapped high-frequency transformer is connected to the midpoint of the bridge arms of the full-bridge converter. A midpoint of the input bridge arm of the full-bridge converter is connected to the secondary side of the center-tapped high-frequency transformer, and an output side of the full-bridge converter is connected with a DC load.

摘要: A method of operating a generator set is disclosed. The method includes generating a current using a generator set, and stepping down the generated current to a stepped down current, using an internal current transformer. The method includes measuring the stepped down current using a current meter that may generate a current signal representative of the stepped down current. Further, the method includes generating a root-mean-square (RMS) value using a plurality of current values associated with the current signal. The method also includes generating a modified RMS value, using the current values that are greater than a predetermined current value. The method includes determining a measured value of the current generated by the generator set based on the RMS value and the modified RMS value. In addition, the method includes adjusting an operation of the generator set when the measured value exceeds an over-current threshold.

The device will often comprise at least one shaft mounted flywheel, each flywheel comprising a flywheel mass that contains a plurality of permanent magnets. The flywheel spins within at least one stator comprising a plurality of magnetic pickup coils configured so that the flywheel mass can rotate freely within the stator. The flywheel may be placed in a vacuum chamber and be supported by magnetic bearings. The flywheel shaft(s) are typically connected to one or more axial mounted motor generators, and the system further typically comprises a storage battery and control processor. The system handles a variety of different and not always stable input power sources, and converts this to continuous, efficient and stable electrical power. The system can handle a variety of clients, such as buildings, electric vehicles, and the like, and can operate under a variety of challenging conditions.

摘要: A system includes a generator. Three AC feeders are connected for feeding AC output from the generator. A rectifier is electrically connected to the three AC feeders and to a load via a first DC feeder and a second DC feeder. A first resistor connects between a the first DC feeder and ground. A second resistor connects between the second DC feeder and ground. At least one of a first current sensor is operatively connected to detect current in the first DC feeder and/or a second current sensor is operatively connected to detect current in the second DC feeder. A controller is configured to monitor for changes in common mode current based on the input from the at least one current sensor, and to determine presence of a fault if change in the common mode current exceeds a predetermined threshold.

摘要: The invention was conceived to facilitate in the advancement in internal combustion engine driven generators. Generators today consist of either an inverter generator design or a synchronous alternator design. Both designs have their advantages and disadvantages. The inverter generator offers very precise AC power output, lower noise level, and lower fuel consumption rates but can’t handle heavy inductive loads well. The synchronous alternator offers slightly less precise AC power output, greater noise level, higher fuel consumption rates but can power heavy inductive loads very well.
The invention incorporates both, known inverter generator design and known synchronous alternator design, connected to an internal combustion engine, to form a hybrid generator design. The hybrid dual generator/alternator design makes it possible for the invention to capitalize on all the advantages of both inverter generator and synchronous alternator designs, while eliminating all the disadvantages of both inverter generator and synchronous alternator designs.-
