Abstract: Systems, apparatuses, and methods for implementing a dual-purpose millimeter-wave frequency band transmitter are disclosed. A system includes a dual-purpose transmitter sending a video stream over a wireless link to a receiver. In some embodiments, the video stream is generated as part of an augmented reality (AR) or virtual reality (VR) application. The transmitter operates in a first mode to scan and map an environment of the transmitter and receiver. The transmitter generates radio frequency (RF) signals in a first frequency range while operating in the first mode. Additionally, the transmitter operates in a second mode to send video data to the receiver, and the transmitter generates RF signals in the first frequency range while operating in the second mode.

A film antenna receives a wireless signal transmitted by radio, a relay unit relays the received wireless signal to a television receiver, an LED indicator emits light based on a control signal transmitted from the television receiver, a storage case stores the film antenna, the relay unit and a light emitting unit, and a connection member connects the storage case to the television receiver. In addition, in a state of being connected to the television receiver, in a normal direction to a housing surface having a display unit on a housing of the television receiver, the storage case has a protruding section which further protrudes from the housing surface and stores the film antenna in the protruding section. For example, this disclosure can be applied to a receiving device having a receiving unit which receives the wireless signal.-

Abstract: A system and method enabling the concurrent provision of multiple multi-user band transmissions, each via a single cable, to a media gateway appliance, thereby providing the media gateway appliance with an increased array of user bands for the provision of program content. The multiple multi-user band transmissions can originate from a single multi-output single-cable interface, or from multiple single-output single-cable interface. This enables the switching fabric and internal tuners of a given media gateway appliance to select any one of the provided user bands and demodulate program content therefrom.

Abstract: A system is described for distributing over the air (OTA) channels within buildings and homes. The system can implement one or more active multi-mode antennas for improved performance and reliability. The system can be configured as a mesh network where multiple nodes are distributed to improve the probability of channel capture across the VHF and UHF frequencies used for over the air TV distribution. A node consists of a beam steering antenna that operates at the VHF and UHF frequencies for TV signal reception, a receiver and demodulation circuit, a transcoder to convert the received information for re-distribution, and a transceiver capable of operation at a secondary frequency band for use in re-distributing the information to communication devices in proximity of the node. The secondary frequency band can be the common WLAN (Wireless Local Area Network) system such as Wi-Fi, with the Wi-Fi transceiver also containing beam steering antennas for improved in-building propagation of the re-distributed information.

Abstract: A system and method are provided that, among other things, can reduce the burden on receiving computers, increase data throughput, reduce system failure, and provide components of a scalable and flexible network architecture. Specifically, the system and method provide a multichannel-multicast network environment for use in dynamically assigning data to channels. This configuration is particularly useful in a trading network environment, as it effectively performs channel reassignments in a way not to disturb the receipt of the underlying data. While the example embodiments described herein pertain to electronic trading, the principles of the present invention may be equally applied in other environments where the advantages presented herein are beneficial.

Abstract: Systems and methods operating a spotbeam satellite network to provide single frequency network broadcast and multicast services. The user equipment is configured to receive the bearer signals from a plurality of adjacent spotbeams of the plurality of spotbeams. The user equipment is configured to constructively utilize the bearer signals received from the plurality of adjacent spotbeams to decode the program information.

Abstract: Embodiments are directed towards remotely generating encoding metadata at a remote content distributor for use by a local user computing device. The remote content distributor receives and encodes content. During or after the encoding process, the remote content distributor generates encoding metadata that indicates how the content was encoded by the remote content distributor. The remote content distributor provides the encoding metadata to the user computer device. The user computing device receives the content and the encoding metadata and encodes the content based on the encoding metadata. The user computing device can then provide the encoded content to another computing device for decoding and presentation to a user.

Abstract: Techniques are described for dynamic production of linear media channels for delivery to passenger devices disposed on mobile transport craft while the transport craft are in transit. For example, each transport craft has an on-board media system. In accordance with a linear channel schedule, the on-board media system can generate a dynamically produced linear media (DPLM) channel that can be streamed as a continuous media channel to passengers on-board the transport craft. The linear channel schedule defines a sequence of programming time slots, including multiple broadcast programming time slots and multiple pre-positioned programming time slots. Dynamically producing the DPLM channel involves, for each upcoming broadcast programming time slot, obtaining a corresponding broadcast channel for receipt as a stream via an off-board communications network; and for each upcoming pre-positioned programming time slot, obtaining a corresponding pre-positioned content segment for receipt from storage on-board the transport craft.
