摘要: A provisioning application can provide a location of an access point device so that the access point device can request provisioning of a transmit power level. The provisioning application can receive information from a user via user interface associated with the provisioning application, such as one or more location parameters, a height location, and/or an address associated with an access point device. The provisioning application provides a user with prompts and/or instructions for obtaining the information and for using an interact tool so as to indicate a boundary associated with the access point device. The one or more location parameters are updated or determined based on the boundary such that the location of the access point device can be accurately determined and transmitted to the access point device so as to be used by the access point device in receiving a transmission power level.

摘要: Path-loss measurements are determined for a test client device moving along a path in a field test environment in which field Wi-Fi mesh network nodes are distributed. The path-loss measurements are reproduced in a field-to-lab test environment that includes a test client device disposed in an electromagnetically-isolated chamber and field test Wi-Fi mesh network nodes disposed in respective electromagnetically-isolated chambers. The test client device and the field test Wi-Fi mesh network nodes are in wired or wireless communication with each other via signal lines. A programmable attenuator is electrically coupled to each signal line. The attenuation of each programmable attenuator is varied to reproduce the path-loss measurements from the field test environment. Path-loss measurements at the location of each field Wi-Fi mesh network node are also reproduced with the programmable attenuators to reproduce the field Wi-Fi mesh network node configuration.

摘要: Disclosed are an augmented reality method and device for simulating a wireless signal. The method includes: capturing an environment, and forming a three-dimensional virtual representation of the environment; determining a parameter related to a virtual wireless device, the virtual wireless device being a virtual wireless signal source or a reflector; positioning the virtual wireless device in the environment, and simulating virtual wireless signal coverage in the three-dimensional virtual representation of the environment according to the positioning, the parameter, and the three-dimensional virtual representation of the environment; and adding, to the environment, a marker representing the virtual wireless signal coverage to serve as an augmented reality image for display. A wireless signal emission is simulated in combination with an augmented reality technology, so that a user having no professional knowledge of a wireless technology can accurately and quickly estimate behaviors of a wireless system at each position of a desired space.

摘要: Presented herein are methodologies for managing radio resources in a venue that implements a high density wireless infrastructure. The methodology includes detecting, using wireless access points, neighbor awareness networking (NAN) communications broadcast by a mobile device, determining a wireless channel on which the mobile device is sending the NAN communications, predicting a destination of the mobile device based on a path, through a predetermined venue, being taken by the mobile device, the path being detected using the wireless access points; and implementing a radio resource management remediation technique to reduce radio interference that is expected to be caused by the NAN communications broadcast by the mobile device at the destination based on the wireless channel and the destination.

Identification is based on at least one of: determining that network switches associated with the wireless APs meet a threshold requirement relating to power over ethernet (PoE) for operating in SPI mode, determining, based on at least one of radio frequency (RF) density and channel quality relating to the plurality of APs, that the one or more APs should operate in SPI mode as opposed to lower power indoor (LPI) mode, and determining that operating the one or more APs in SPI mode improves quality of service (QoS) metrics for the plurality of APs as opposed to operating the one or more APs in LPI mode. The one or more wireless APs are configured to operate in SPI mode.
