Abstract:
The litter is characterized by the very good humidity and odour absorption whereas the moistened parts of the litter take the form of the compact lumps. The litter is being made of the natural loamy mineral in the amount of 90-99 gravimetric % as well as of the wooddust or of the sawdust in the amount of 10-1 gravimetric %, advantageously with the addition of the aromatic substances.
Abstract:
Animal litter, especially, consisting of or containing a proportion of particles comprising at least one moisture-absorbent organic material and at least one flaked mineral material, and process for producing a special embodiment of this animal litter.
Abstract:
A process and an apparatus for the production of paper products, such as "cat litter" or paper fuel, comprising reducing paper to a particulate form by shredding and grinding, conveying the particles of paper as a layer on a first conveyor (21) firstly beneath a first levelling and compacting roller (22) and thereafter beneath a first set of water sprays (24), before discharging from the conveyor onto a second conveyor (21') through a rearwardly inclined transfer chute (27) to invert the layer during transfer. The inverted layer on the second conveyor passes firstly beneath the second levelling and compacting roller (28) and thereafter beneath a second set of water sprays (29). The paper product is completed by extruding the paper and water mixture and cutting the extruded mix into pellets before subjecting the pellets to dehydration. In the case of paper product to be used as paper fuel, the paper is mixed with coal dust.
Abstract:
Disclosed herein are novel compositions for the production of granule products, and uses of the same. Said granule products may comprise one or more of an input material, fibers, a binder, moisture, and an additive. Also disclosed are processes and systems for making the same and methods of using the same. A process for manufacturing granules may include mixing and granulating input material, fibers, a binder, and water using a mixer to produce wet granules, drying and cooling the wet granules, and separating at least one of dry overs and dry fines from the dried, cooled granules using a classifier.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates, according to some embodiments, to methods and systems for deriving odor- and moisture-absorbing products from a microcrop (e.g., photosynthetic aquatic species). More specifically, the present disclosure relates, in some embodiments, to forming an absorptive product from Lemna, including an animal litter, an animal bedding, a diaper product, a spill clean-up product, and any combination thereof. A process for forming an absorbent product from a microcrop may comprise the actions of (a) lysing the microcrop to generate a lysed microcrop; (b) separating the lysed microcrop into a solid fraction and a juice fraction; (c) processing the solid fraction to generate an absorbent solid; and/or (d) forming, by a shaping unit, the absorbent solid into pellets or granules that may be incorporated into the absorptive product. An absorptive product may have odor- reducing properties that are due in part to chlorophyll (e.g., from a microcrop).
Abstract:
The present invention includes multifunctional compositions, methods and binding systems to provide disinfecting and deodorizing coatings for hard and soft surfaces, inorganic and organic solid surfaces and particulate media and other related substrates, including human and animal skin and skin lesions; to provide neutralizing functions for malodors generated by both human, animal and industrial fluids and solid wastes; and to provide neutralizing and degrading functions for nuisance and noxious chemicals. The present invention provides compositions and methods for producing disinfecting, oxidizing and enzyme-inhibiting fluids enabling preparation of durable, stable biocidal and deodorizing coatings and media which can be widely used for biological agent control, prevention and elimination of odors, and degradation of noxious agents susceptible to chemical oxidation, and which take forms that are inoffensive to users and offer high convenience.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a fibrous solid substrate in pellet form suitable for use in agriculture. The fibrous solid substrate in pellet form is obtained from spent biomass material following an anaerobic fermentation and biogas production. Further disclosed is a method for cultivating fungal cells and/or spores using said fibrous solid substrate in pellet form. Also disclosed are methods for upgrading spent biomass material from a biogas production unit to fertilizer products, fibers and substrate for biogas.
Abstract:
Provided herein are compositions and methods that facilitate animal enrichment and breeding in animal containment environments. Provided in certain embodiments are animal containment enrichment compositions that include one or more sheets, where at least one of the one or more sheets comprises an array of scores defining a flat array of strips in the sheet. Provided in certain embodiments are animal containment enrichment compositions that include one or more sheets, where at least one of the one or more sheets comprises an array of scores defining a flat array of sections of the sheet.
Abstract:
This invention relates to a formulation and process for making a lightweight, clumping absorbent material with virtually no dust, low tracking, superior clumping arid odor control. The formulations described herein may utilize a tackifying agent to attach the clumping additive to the surface of the absorbent material.
