A textile product decolorizing device comprises a closed vessel (1), a drum (2) rotating in this closed vessel, an ozonizer (41) connected to the closed vessel (1) through an automatic valve (42), a water supply device (58), and a blower (34) equipped with an air heater (31) for feeding hot air and cold air into the closed vessel (1). The ozone concentration in the closed vessel is measure with an ozone concentration meter (43) and the ozonizer (41) is controlled, thereby retaining a desired concentration.

The invention concerns a method for oxidising a textile mass, in particular woollen, to modify the surface of the fibres whereof it is formed, essentially consisting in: a) transforming said textile mass into a textile mass containing 12.5 to 60 % (g/g) of water and having a structure such that a gas can pass through it uniformly and thoroughly; and b) passing through said mass, for 5 to 20 minutes at room temperature, a gas mixture containing 20 to 150 g of ozone per m , which is continuously injected through said mass while it moves along on a carrier system, being alternately directed on both surfaces of said pass. Said treatment is preferably carried out in a sealed chamber, the ozone being destroyed in output.

The invention relates to a method for the production of highly absorbent or superabsorbent hybrid fibres by ozoning of natural or synthetic fibres and subsequent graft polymerizing on the ozoned fibres. The method is characterized in that the ozoned fibre is graft polymerized in a water solution, containing ionizable or swellable monomers having hydrophilic groups and cross-binders comprising polyfunctional groups. The invention also comprises a product produced by the method according to the invention.

The source of the free radical producing energy may be ultra-violet light, electron beam, noble gas radio frequency (rf) plasma, corona discharge, or gamma radiation.
