Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for inerting a wall of a sealed and thermally insulating tank (1), said tank being intended to contain a liquefied fuel gas, wherein the wall has a multilayer structure comprising two sealed barriers (2, 4) and a thermally insulating barrier (3), said method including: implementing a first inerting mode in which the gaseous phase of the thermally insulating barrier (3) is placed under a relative pressure which is lower than a pressure limit of inflammability Pi of the fuel gas; detecting, during the first inerting mode, whether the pressure of the gaseous phase of the thermally insulating barrier (3) exceeds said threshold pressure Ps; and switching from the first inerting mode to a second inerting mode, the second inerting mode including sweeping the thermally insulating barrier (3) with an inert gas.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a double-walled liquefied gas tank characterized in that one or more insulation spaces about the vat containing the liquid are filled with a mixture, consisting mainly of argon trapped by gravity, between the outer walls of the vat and: a. for the insulating space (2) located below the bottom wall of the vat, the base plate (3) supporting the vat; b. for the insulating spaces (5) and (6), the circular chamber (16); c. for the insulation spaces (7) and (25), the circular chamber (16) and the roof (17); d. for the insulation space (14), the suspended and sealed ceiling (12), respectively.
Abstract:
Large amounts of hazardous goods, especially liquid ones such as fuel, may be carried in safety containers, whether tank semitrailers, oil tankers, containers for hazardous goods or aircraft, and be transported with practically no risk for the environment, by completely filling the inside (10) of the container with glass wool, so that the hazardous materials or other fillings dispersed therein may not escape or be somehow spilled in the environment. The liquid components, for example hydrocarbons, are absorbed and held by a dense, water-proofed latticework (15), so that no oxygen can reach them. They are thus protected against explosions and spillage in the environment. At the same time, a safety container of this type acts as a kind of safety buoy, preventing water from entering the inside (10) of the container, so that the kerosene, gasoline or oil contained therein further increase buoyancy. As a whole, a simplification of the safety container design and a considerable increase in safety may be noted.

Abstract:
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pressure vessel for containing or transporting pressurized gas. More particularly it relates to such vessels for containing or transporting compressed natural gas. The present invention also relates to a method of storing or transporting gas onshore or offshore. Moreover, the present invention relates to a vehicle for transporting gas, in particular compressed natural gas.
