In the present invention methods for storing gaseous hydrogen employing an ionic liquid are disclosed. The ionic liquid is used to displace the volume in the storage tanks. By displacing the volume in the storage tanks with the ionic liquid, the storage pressure can remain constant and the "stranded" gas can be eliminated. This constant pressure will also allow for a reduction in the number of storage tanks needed to provide the required inventory at hydrogen fueling stations. In addition, this constant pressure will provide a complete and fast fill to the vehicle.

A gas dispensing device (1) is provided for injecting inert gas (13) into previously opened containers of perishable liquids to prevent subsequent oxidation of the liquids, such as wine. The dispensing device comprising a surface mountable means (3,5)- for supporting a gas conduit pipe and a gas dispensing nozzle in generally vertical relation thereto, in which the conduit pipe (4) is connectable at one end to a source of gas and at an opposite end to a compressible actuating gas dispensing nozzle (6) which includes an actuable valve (22). The nozzle is adapted to engage an open end of a container, preferably a wine bottle (2), at its operatively lower end and the dispensing device is characterized in that the nozzle includes at least one gas discharge outlet (9,17) in which the outlet is orientated off-centre to a vertical axis of the nozzle and is operatively locatable within the container and in which the nozzle includes at least one escape passage (12,18) for operatively facilitating release of excess gas from the container.

There is disclosed a high pressure dispensing nozzle for providing cryogenic fuel such as liquid natural gas (LNG) from a source to a filling receptacle, such as on a vehicle. The nozzle has a gun-style nozzle construction and a plurality of jaw members provided near a distal end for locking engagement with the filling receptacle. The nozzle further has a movable internal poppet to establish a fuel passageway through the nozzle for delivery of fuel therethrough. Two different triggers enable separate steps of locking of the nozzle onto the filling receptacle and initiating gas flow for ease of use. The two steps may also me combined and actuated by a single trigger. One nozzle disclosed includes a safety button for dispersing residual gas in the nozzle prior to disengagement to help avoid injury to the user.
