A cryptographic label is provided for enabling a mobile communications device to perform secure communications. The label comprises a flexible printed circuit having a first set of electrical contacts disposed on a top side of the circuit for interfacing to a mobile communications device, a second set of electrical contacts disposed on a bottom side of the circuit for interfacing to a communication card, and a hardware security module disposed in the circuit and coupled to the first and second sets of electrical contacts. The label is characterised in that it further includes a skirt attached to the flexible printed circuit, the skirt having an adhesive portion on at least a bottom side thereof which, in use, bonds to a communication card to attach the label to the communication card. The skirt is capable of having printed indicia provided on a top side thereof.

Die elektrisch leitfähige Struktur (102) weist mindestens eine auf dem Substrat aufgebrachte Leiterbahn auf. Die Opferstruktur (108) ist von einem Abschnitt der Leiterbahn gebildet. Systems and methods are disclosed for preventing tampering of a programmable integrated circuit device. Generally, programmable devices, such as FPGAs, have two stages of operation; a configuration stage and a user mode stage. To prevent tampering and/or reverse engineering of a programmable device, various anti-tampering techniques may be employed during either stage of operation to disable the device and/or erase sensitive information stored on the device once tampering is suspected. One type of tampering involves bombarding the device with a number of false configuration attempts in order to decipher encrypted data. By utilizing a dirty bit and a sticky error counter, the device can keep track of the number of failed configuration attempts that have occurred and initiate anti-tampering operations when tampering is suspected while the device is still in the configuration stage of operation.

The battery cover has a short-circuit connecting member. A memory card socket accommodates a pluggable memory card. A writing control unit has input and output ports, and when the battery cover is jointed with the body, the input and output ports contact the short-circuit connecting member to form a short-circuit connection therebetween; the writing control unit detects whether the battery cover is removed by outputting a test signal from the output port and detecting for the test signal at the input port; if the battery cover is removed, the test signal is not detected at the input port and data is prohibited from being written into the memory card.

Ein vorgegebenes Kommando (54; 56) wird dabei derart gesichert, dass es durch den Datenträger (10) nur dann ausgeführt wird, wenn der zumindest eine Zähler (62; 64) in einem vorgegebenen Wertebereich liegt. Der zumindest eine Zähler (62; 64) wird vor einer Ausführung des Kommandos (54; 56) dekrementiert und lediglich dann inkrementiert, wenn das Kommando (54; 56) ohne Unterbrechung ausgeführt worden ist. Dabei ist der zumindest eine Zähler (62; 64) mehrfach, insbesondere auch noch nach der Ausgabe des Datenträgers (10) an einen Nutzer, einstellbar.
