Abstract: The present invention relates to a structure for a bicycle lane, in which polyurethane foam, which can maintain the same physical properties as those of natural hardwood, is used to provide the bicycle lane with the hardness and rigidity similar to those of a bicycle race track having superior repulsive elastic force (the force of being bounced off), thereby enabling bicycle riders to enjoy comfort and speed. The present invention also relates to a method for constructing the structure. The structure of a bicycle lane according to the present invention comprises a base layer and a surface layer formed on the base layer. The surface layer comprises: a polyurethane foam layer, which is formed on an upper surface of the base layer by simultaneously spraying a main material, containing polypropylene glycol, an acrylate-based polymer, and silica, and a hardener, and foaming the sprayed materials; and a mixed red clay layer formed on the polyurethane foam layer.

Abstract: A method of applying building a pavement structure using a polymer modified hot- applied tack coat is disclosed. This polymer modified tack coat is non-adhesive at ambient temperatures, and, thus, also non tracking. The tack is applied while hot, but cools quickly. The subsequent application of hot mix asphalt results in a superior bond between the asphalt layer and the tack layer. It is particularly well suited to bonded friction course applications since it removes the necessity of specialized spray paving machinery and allows the use of conventional asphalt distributors and pavers.
