A packaged food product comprising a tray (2) containing an edible composition having a layered structure, comprising: -at least one composite layer (24) comprising puffed cereal grains (G) embedded in a matrix of edible material (22); and -at least one edible coating layer (26) deposited on said composite layer (24) and preferably including chocolate. The matrix of edible material (22) has, in a temperature range of between 20°C and 40°C, and preferably also in the range of from 0°C to 40°C, a pasty consistency such as to maintain its own shape in unconfined conditions.

Packaging for a food product, comprising: a hollow body (1) made of alimentary material and formed by a pair of half-shells (2, 4) which have an opening with an ovoidal contour and are sealed together along the respective contours (6) of the opening, and including an accessory or surprise article (S, 8), and a cover wrapping (9) of said hollow body (1), which is formed by a pair of wrapping half-shells (10, 12) made of foil material, where each wrapping half-shell (10, 12) has a form matching the respective half-shell of alimentary material (2, 4) and has a respective flange (14, 16) surrounding and projecting from the contour (6) of its opening, and in which said wrapping half-shells (10, 12) are connected together, in a disengageable manner, by means of a mutual interference fit of said flanges (14, 16), said hollow body has a form with rotational symmetry about the greater axis of symmetry of said ovoidal contour; the plane defined by the sealed contours of the opening of said half-shells of alimentary material (2, 4) substantially coincides with the joining plane of said flanges (14, 16). The cover wrapping (9) of said hollow body (1) has signalling means (20, 22) which identify on the wrapping specific pressure areas where application of a pressure causes the separation of the wrapping half-shells (10, 12) and the half-shells of alimentary material (2, 4).

Described herein is a shuttle device for producing wrappers of sheet material (F) containing a product (P) with at least one fantail-twisted end obtained by twisting said sheet material (F). The shuttle (10) comprises a first part (112a, 112b) for receiving the product (P) located in the precursor of wrapper and at least one second part (212a, 212b; 312a, 312b) that grips on a respective part of precursor of wrapper (F). The first part (112a, 112b) and the second part (212a, 212b; 312a, 312b) of the shuttle (10) are able to turn with respect to one another about a given axis (X10) so as to produce at least one fantail-twisted end as a result of the twisting action imparted on the precursor of wrapper (F) following upon the relative movement of rotation about the aforesaid given axis (X10).

Described herein is a process for obtaining a container (100) of a given shape starting from sheet material, comprising the steps of: - providing a sheet (110); - providing a mould (20) having a forming cavity (20A), which defines a reference axis (R) and has a shape corresponding to said given shape of said container (100); - positioning said sheet (110) over said forming cavity (20A); - providing a forming device (40) having forming means (41, 42) arranged on the side of said sheet opposite to said forming cavity, and operating said means for inserting said sheet (110) into said forming cavity (20A) to deform it until a container blank is obtained (101) having a shape approximating said given shape; and - blowing a gas under pressure into said forming cavity (20A) to deform said container blank (101) until said container (100) with said given shape is obtained. The process described enables use of sheet material of reduced thickness as compared to conventional processes.

A sheet wrapping material including a metal layer (10), for example, aluminium, can be treated by applying a laser-treatment beam (LB1) to the metal layer (10). The metal layer (10) may be included in a multilayer set with a layer of polymeric material (50), by applying to the metal layer (10) coupled with the layer of polymeric material (50) a further laser- treatment beam (LB2), of a different wavelength, may be applied, to obtain also treatment of the polymeric material ( 50 ). The treatment may, for example, include cutting, pre-cutting, and perforation.
