Abstract:
An in-ear monitor (IEM) system and method to facilitate the monitoring and control of a weaver’s acoustical environment. A wearer is provided with a digital wireless communication and digital signal processing (DSP) based IEM system. The IEM apparatus comprises monitors for each ear, and includes a voice channel microphone that is placed in the ear of the wearer to provide a bi-directionnal voice communication channel over which the wearer may communicate with other parties.
Abstract:
A device and method for facilitating various functions associated with audio and visual elements of a production manages analog and digital signals as they are sent in a bi-directional communications system. In one embodiment, the communications system includes a microphone or instrument pickup and an in-ear monitoring system.
Abstract:
The invention discloses a building multimedia distribution system. The system contains a transmitter and one or more receivers. Said transmitter comprises a power timing control module, a video input module, a real-time informtion displaying module, a LCD module, a synchronous transmitting module. Said receiver comprising a power timing control module, a video input module, a real-time information display module, a LCD module, a synchronous receiving moudule. It has the function of receiving or playing video information and real-time information in the information distribution system. In this distribution system, the transmitter controls receiver wirelessly, and this system can achieves synchronous cycling playing of multiple receivers The system can also scrollingly display the information transmitted by paging station. The installation of the system adopts appending means without destroying the structure of the building.
Abstract:
Different embodiments of the invention are based on a directional speaker. The audio signals from the speaker can be generated by transforming ultrasonic signals in air. The embodiments can be applied to a number of different areas, such as a cell phone, a hearing aid, a portable device, an entertainment system, and a computation system. The embodiments can be personalized to the hearing characteristics of the user, or to the ambient noise level of the environment. As applied to cell phones or portable electronic devices, the outputs from some of those embodiments can be in a directionally constrained manner, achieving a certain degree of privacy, without the need to wear a headset or ear phone, or to hold a speaker against one's ear, while freeing up both of the user's hands. As applied to a hearing aid, some of those embodiments do not have to be inserted into the user's ear. As applied to audio output systems, the directional delivery of audio output from some of those embodiments can be targeted to those one or more persons desirous of hearing the audio output. A number of the attributes of the audio output, such as its beam width, beam direction, the degree of isolation and the volume, can be controlled, either by a user or by monitored measurements. As applied to wireless delivery of audio sounds from audio systems to personal audio devices, some of those embodiments permit users of the personal audio device to be mobile yet still acquire the audio sounds.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus provide interactive audience participation at live spectator events. Enjoyment for a plurality of spectators is enhanced. Participating spectators employ wireless interactive devices that present a promotional message and include user input and output interfaces. Spectators are queried, and enter answers via the user input interface. The answers are transmitted to a central processor, stored as spectator data, and processed into results. A visual display or the user output interface announces the results to the spectators.
Abstract:
A system and method providing content for access by a portable device at an event is provided. The method includes receiving a plurality of signals from a plurality of sources (102) and combining at least some of the plurality of signals (104) for transmission to a plurality of broadcast systems, with the plurality of broadcast systems corresponding to a plurality of events. The method further includes determining the broadcast systems to which each of the combined signals is to be transmitted (108), transmitting the combined signals to at least one of the determined broadcast systems (110), and broadcasting the combined signals (114) received by at least one of the broadcast systems corresponding to at least one event. The combined signals are configured to allow selection of content with a portable device, with the content defined by at least one of audio and video signals of the combined signals.
Abstract:
A supplemental audio content system (30a) is for providing supplemental audio content to movie patrons during playing of a motion picture film and associated soundtrack in a cinema (21a) of cineplex (20) including a plurality of individual cinemas (21a-21d). The system (30a) may include a player (40a) for playing supplemental audio content during playing of the motion picture and associated soundtrack, and a wireless transmitter (42a) connected to the supplemental audio content player (40a). An earphone (70a) may be worn by the movie patron, and the earphone (70a) may be connected to a wireless receiver (80a) to cooperate with the wireless transmitter (42a) to deliver supplemental audio content to the at least one movie patron. The wireless transmitter (42a) and wireless receiver (80a) preferably have operating characteristics to avoid interference with respective supplemental audio content systems (30a-30d) for other cinemas (21a-21d) of the cineplex (20).
Abstract:
The proposed invention provides a way for sports fans to participate more fully in the game-race or his/her favorite sport. This invention provides the spectator with a single point of audio contact with the sport, bringing the fan into the game or race, preserving the passion and reverence for the game that he's when she has for his/her sports choice. The communication system includes networking a plurality of existing recording devices with a centralized preceding such transmission system whereby selected information is broadcast personal receivers. The individuals in possession of a personal receiver can select from a plurality of different broadcast selections, for example, conversations in the bullpen or press box.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for networked in-store media advertising. A local media advertising system is operably coupled to a media content server (102) via a communications network (105). The system receives advertising content and an advertising content display schedule from the content server. The system displays the advertising content according to the advertising content display schedule. The system has a viewer sensor that compiles viewer data about the number of viewers and customers in the vicinity of the displayed media content. The system generates viewer information about how many viewers and customers were in the vicinity of the displayed advertising content using the viewer data and the advertising content display schedule. The system then transmits the viewer information to a statistics server (104) via the communications network (105). Advertisers can then retrieve the viewer information from the statistics server in order to monitor the effectiveness of an advertising campaign.
Abstract:
A portable spa (16) including an audio system (12) designed to use the spa shell as the sound generating device. Transducer devices (19 and 20) are mounted within an enclosure which is bonded to the spa shell so as to couple the sound vibration energy to the shell so that sound can be heard when using the spa (16).
