Abstract:
A method of making a haze-free nonalcoholic malt beverage is disclosed. The method includes forming a malt solution containing a coagulant and water, adjusting the pH of the malt solution so that the pH of the malt solution is less than about 4.0 and coagulating the protein from the malt extract in the malt solution. The coagulated protein from the malt solution is removed to form a refreshing haze-free malt beverage. A method of making a shelf-stable beverage is also disclosed. The method includes carbonating a solution with more than about 1.5 volumes of carbon dioxide per volume of finished beverage; adding an acidulant to the solution so that the finished beverage has a pH of from about 2.5 to about 4.0; and adding to the solution a chemical preservative. Also, a haze-free and shelf-stable nonalcoholic malt beverage is disclosed.

Abstract:
Carbon dioxide is dissolved in perishable liquids loaded into pressure vessels that tare provided with low carbon dioxide head pressure so as to improve product shelf life, thereby providing options for more economical shipment, as by rail and ocean vessels and for extended transport by truck and to facilitate extended storage of perishable products and to avoid the necessity of multiple treatments for pathogen reduction (Figure 4).
Abstract:
Citrus juice beverages having an oil soluble flavor antioxidant added thereto are provided. A tocopherol antioxidant, other than alpha-tocopherol, is added to a citrus juice beverage, such as orange juice, to preserve the flavor sensory attributes of stored juice without deteriorating the initial flavor sensory attributes of the juice.
Abstract:
A ready-to-drink formulation in bottled form comprises still spring water, an active ingredient, one or more flavouring agents, one or more sweeteners and an organic acid, the formulation having a shelf-life in excess of six months. The formulations have excellent oganoleptic properties and a shelf life which is generally in excess of twelve months, while at the same time acting as a vehicle for a range of active ingredients which have a functional effect. Thus, the active ingredient can be a combination of saccharide materials and salts which can be used by consumers to boost their energy levels throughout the day during normal work and recreation, but also in situations where extra energy is required, such as when engaging in strenuous activity, for example sporting activities. The active ingredient can also be potassium hydroxycitric acid, a known appetite suppressant, such that the formulation can have beneficial effects for those wishing to reduce their calorie intake and thus achieve weight loss.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a method wherein flavoured sugarcane juice containing 18-20% soluble solids and can be preserved after suitable dilution in aseptic unit packs.
Abstract:
A method of increasing the conductivity of water by mixing sodium benzoate with tap water at various concentrations. A sodium benzoate solution, in low doses is not toxic and can be consumed by humans and animals. Some embodiments of this invention are further improved by combining the water having increased conductivity with coating that will cause the solution to adhere to the surfaces of organic and inorganic material. The increased conductivity solution can be used to reduce rust, corrosion and mold as well as the resulting offensive odors caused by mold. This product has many uses in indudtrial processes to prevent rust and mold and reduce undesirable odors, for example a process for recycling newsprint and other paper containing ink.
