A construction machine of motor-driven type in which electric components of a motor and the like have long lives since a simple structure is provided to the machine. In a shovel having a hydraulic pump (16, 24, 26) driven by a motor (15, 23, 25), electric components such as the motor (15, 23, 25), a generator (11), and a battery (12) are cooled by means of oil for operating a hydraulic cylinder (18, 20, 22).

A control system for controlling position of an object includes an integrated actuation package utilizing an electric motor driven servopump to control actuator position. The electric motor operates at a constant direction and speed and has augmented system rotational inertia. Additionally, position of a swashplate on the variable displacement servopump is adjusted directly by an electrically powered rotary actuator.

The object of the invention is a transmission arrangement for a moveable device, such as a door (1 ) opening mechanism (2) and a method for using a device moved with a hydraulic cylinder (3). The method comprises at least the following steps: - producing a signal for moving the device (1 ) in a first or second direction and sending the signal to the control device, - if the signal was a signal to move the device (1 ) in the first direction, the first pump (11, 12) is started by means of a signal from the control device, and the pump produces fluid pressure on the first side of the hydraulic cylinder (3) in order to move the device (1) in the first direction, - if the signal was a signal to move the device (1) in the second direction, the second pump (13, 14) is started by means of a signal from the control device, and the pump produces fluid pressure on the second side of the hydraulic cylinder (3) in order to move the device (1) in the second direction, - monitoring the movement and/or position of the device with a sensor (18), which sends information to the control device about the position and/or movement of the device (1), - making a decision in the control device about the necessary procedure, - starting or stopping the first pump (11, 12) and/or the second pump (13, 14) with the aid of a signal from the control device based on the made decision. Fluid pressure is produced with centrifugal pumps used with electric motors.

A fluid-driven actuator system includes a fluid-driven actuator and at least one proportional control valve and at least one pump connected to the fluid-driven actuator to provide fluid to operate the fluid-driven actuator. The at least one pump includes at least one fluid driver having a prime mover and a fluid displacement assembly to be driven by the prime mover such that fluid is transferred from the pump inlet to the pump outlet. The fluid-driven actuator system also includes a controller that establishes at least one of a speed and a torque of the at least one prime mover to adjust at least one of a flow in the fluid-driven system to a flow set point and a pressure in the fluid-driven actuator system to a pressure set point and concurrently establishes an opening of the at least one proportional control valve to adjust at least one of the flow to the flow set point and the pressure to the pressure set point.

The integrated pump assembly includes a pump with two fluid drivers, each fluid driver comprising a prime mover and a fluid displacement assembly to be driven by the prime mover such that fluid is transferred from a first port of the pump to a second port of the pump. The pump assembly also includes two valve assembles to isolate the pump from the system. The linear actuator system also includes a controller that establishes the pump in a normal mode of operation in which the prime movers are independently driven and switches to a fail-safe mode of operation in which only one prime mover is operated.
