The invention relates to a method of operating a swing door, whereby a drive moves a door leaf from a first position of the door leaf to a second position of the door leaf. For providing an operation of the swing door in a more effective and/or efficient way the method is characterized in that the drive adds an additional driving force and/or torque to the door leaf in the first position and/or the second position of the door leaf in relation to an external driving force and/or torque acting on the door leaf to hold the door leaf in the first position or second position, respectively.

A method for calibrating a powered actuator (1) for use in a vehicle is disclosed, with regard to an end position (6,7) of an actuating element (2) which is easy to achieve and conserves easily damaged mechanical components of the actuator made from plastic, rubber or similar. According to the invention, in a calibrating step, the actuator (1) is operated with recording and analysis of an actuation speed measured parameter (U) such that the actuating element (2) is moved in the direction of the end position (6,7) and reaching the end position (6,7) is recognised when the value of the actuation speed measured parameter (U) reaches or drops below a given threshold. A temperature parameter (T) characterising the temperature of the actuator (1) is evaluated before or during the calibration process. The calibration step is then only carried out if the value of the temperature parameter (T) does not exceed an upper temperature limit. An actuator (1) suitable for carrying out said method is also disclosed.

Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zur Steuerung einer Fahrzeugklappe, umfassend ein Gehäuse, das mit einem ersten Ende schwenkbar mit einem von Fahrzeugklappe und Fahrzeugrahmen gekoppelt ist und mit einem zweiten Ende mit dem anderen von Fahrzeugklappe und Fahrzeugrahmen schwenkbar gekoppelt ist, eine an dem Gehäuse angeordnete Antriebseinrichtung, und eine an dem Gehäuse angeordnete Sensoreinrichtung, wobei die Sensoreinrichtung mit der Antriebseinrichtung gekoppelt ist. Eine Vorrichtung zur Steuerung einer Fahrzeugklappe, die ein sicheres Öffnen und Schließen der Heckklappe und gleichzeitig einen Einklemmschutz ermöglicht wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch geschaffen, dass die Sensoreinrichtung einen verschieblich vorgesehenen Mitnehmer aufweist, wobei der Mitnehmer mit der Fahrzeugklappe gekoppelt ist, und dass die Sensoreinrichtung eine Führung aufweist, wobei der Mitnehmer in der Führung geführt ist.

The present invention relates to a process for automatic configuration of end positions of an overhead door leaf, comprising the steps of moving the door leaf towards a first end position, detecting a change in motor shaft power when reaching the first end position, stopping the door leaf at the first end position, storing the first end position as a first end position encoder value, moving the door leaf towards a second end position, detecting a change of motor shaft power when reaching the second end position, stopping the door leaf at the second end position, and storing the second end position as a second end position encoder value.

Movement of a doorway panel (22) for a transit car passenger doorway is controlled by programmable doorway controller (30) which enables opening and closing movement of the doorway panel (22). A reversible direction drive, connected to the rotary drive (54) through mechanical linkage (56), is responsive to the controller (30) to actuate movement of the panel (22). Solid-state detector (65) in which the movement of a cam (60) is interrelated with the rotary drive (54). Solid-state sensor (64) is located to verify closure of the doorway panel (22). The controller (30) enables reading of stored operation data, from the sensors (64 and 65), for each doorway panel (22) of the transit car system and provides interrelation for safety purposes.

A gate system comprising two parallel barriers (2), (4) defining an entryway into a zone. A gate (6) is pivotal about an upright axis at one side of the zone and is movable between a closed position at which it extends across the zone and open position at which it extends in the direction of the zone adjacent one barrier (2). The gate (6) is driven from a motor (20) via a flexible coupling (22), a gear box (24) and a coupling device (26) and a spring loaded clutch (28). When the gate (6) is at its closed position the gate is locked in that position by locking the coupling device (26). The gate can, however, be moved to its open position notwithstanding this locking by application of force to the gate whereby to exert sufficient pressure to release the spring loaded clutch (28). Approach of persons towards the gate system, in an intended allowed direction of passage therethrough, at the entrance (10) thereto, is detected by use of a photocell (12) which causes the gate to be moved to its open position for a predetermined period and then reverted to its closed position. Approach of persons to the exit side (16) is detected by a detector arrangement (14) effective to generate an alarm, when such approach is detected.
