    Abstract: A sailing watercraft, comprises a hull (2), a mainmast (4) mounted on the hull (2) and movable over a predetermined arc around a first articulation axis (X- X) parallel to a longitudinal axis of the hull (2), a sail (11) hinged on one end (8) of the mainmast (2) around a second articulation axis (Y-Y) parallel to the first articulation axis (X-X), manoeuvring means (15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 23, 25, 26, 27, 29) operatively connected to the mainmast (4) to move it around the first articulation axis (X-X), connecting means (9, 12) between the mainmast (4) and the sail (11) of such a nature that corresponding to each angular position of the mainmast (4) around the first articulation axis (X- X) there is a unique angular position of the sail (11) around the second articulation axis (Y-Y), and that the inclination of the mainmast (4) relative to a mid-line plane (P) of the hull (2) is always opposite to the inclination of the sail (11).
