Abstract:
A chewing gum base comprises food acceptable polyfarnesene wherein the polyfarnesene has a weight average molecular weight above 100,000 daltons. A chewing gum composition comprises about 5% to about 95% chewing gum base comprising food acceptable polyfarnesene wherein the polyfarnesene has a weight average molecular weight above 100,000 daltons; about 5% to about 95% bulking and sweetening agent; and about 0.1 to about 10% flavoring agent.
Abstract:
The invention provides methods of screening a compound that can increase spine/excitatory synapse formation and/or numbers. The compound is identified by contacting Ephexin5 with a test compound and selecting the compounds that inhibit Rho GEF activity of Ephexin5. Additionally, the invention also provides methods for increasing spine/excitatory synapse formation and/or numbers by contacting a neuron with an Ephexin5 inhibitor.
Abstract:
Methods for the treatment of Angelman Syndrome autism spectrum disorders are provided. The methods comprise administrating to a subject an agent that increases the expression of, or increases activity of, ?-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methyl-4-isoxazolepropionic acid receptor (AMPAR) at neuronal synapses.
Abstract:
Chewable compositions containing at least 20% of recommended daily allowance of water-soluble vitamins are used to maintain a beneficial amount of such vitamins in a consumer's bloodstream throughout a day. Use of such chewable compositions may be supplemented by additional single dose intake of such water-soluble vitamins.
Abstract:
Λ method and system arc for collating, storing, analyzing and enabling access to data associated with test subjects. Test data associated with the test subjects it, received via test devices, and transmitted to and stored in a remote database as collected data, where it is analyzed. The analyzed data is stored in the remote database. Remote access to collected or analyzed data is enabled. The system includes the test devices, the remote database, thy test data, a processor to analy7e the collected data, and an access subsystem to enable the remote access. In a peer-to-peer version of the method and system, peer devices are located remotely of the test devices. The peer devices are in communication with the test devices, and a processing subsystem creates a programmed or adaptive response in the peer devices, based upon the collected data received by the test devices.
Abstract:
The present invention is generally directed to an oral composition comprising a calcium phosphate salt and a combination of acids having differing solubilities in the oral cavity, for tooth mineralization or remineralization. The presence of a combination of acids in the oral composition acts to maximize the release of calcium and phosphate ions from the oral composition over an extended period of time, in order to promote the precipitation of enamel-like crystals on the surfaces of the teeth, or in subsurface regions therein
Abstract:
A vehicle and a method for oral care that includes Magnolia Bark Extract in combination with a surface active agent. The effectiveness of Magnolia Bark Extract in inhibiting biofilm formation in the oral cavity is increased by a synergistic combination of the Magnolia Bark Extract with a surface active agent in an oral cavity delivery agent, such as spray, mouthwash, toothpaste, dental cleaner, gel, dental floss, toothpick, dentifrice, and a denture cleaner.
Abstract:
A confectionary composition and a method for oral care that includes Magnolia Bark Extract in combination with a surface active agent. The effectiveness of Magnolia Bark Extract in inhibiting biofilm formation in the oral cavity is increased by a synergistic combination of the Magnolia Bark Extract with a surface active agent in an oral cavity delivery agent, such as confectionary, a lozenge, a candy, and a tablet.
Abstract:
A pullulan-free edible film composition for oral cleansing, breath freshening, and anti-microbial benefits includes a film forming agent and Magnolia Bark extract. In a treatment process, effective amounts of Magnolia Bark extract is delivered to the oral cavity by the edible film for convenient oral cleansing and breath freshening benefits. A method of making the pullulan-free edible film composition includes forming an aqueous solution of film forming agents and Magnolia Bark extract and drying the aqueous solution to form a dry edible film.
