A gas separation membrane module is formed from a woven fabric of weft membrane hollow fibers and warp yarns. The membrane module includes an active hollow fiber region spanning the inner edges of the two tubesheets. The membrane module also includes two tubesheets formed by encapsulating membrane fiber on one or both ends. The tubesheet on the end includes a first sub-region adjacent the active fiber and a second sub-region extending from first sub-region to the outer face of the tubesheet. The spacing of the warp threads is relatively denser in the first sub-region than in the active region or the second sub-region.

A composite hollow ceramic fiber includes a porous hollow core supporting a thin, dense sheath. The non-gas-tight core comprises a first ceramic material and an interconnecting network of pores. The gas-tight sheath comprises a second ceramic material. The fiber is made by extruding a core suspension of particles of the first ceramic material, a polymeric binder, and a solvent and a sheath suspension of particles of the second ceramic material, a polymeric binder and a solvent, respectively, from a spinnerette and coagulating the nascent hollow fiber to effect phase inversion of the polymeric binders. The resultant green fiber is sintered in a two step process. First, the binders are burned off. Second, the sheath is densified and the second ceramic material is sintered without fully sintering the first ceramic material. The first ceramic material of the core suspension has a median particle size greater than that of the second ceramic material of the sheath suspension.

A system (200) and method for performing an internal inspection on a rotor blade (16) of a wind turbine are disclosed. The system includes a sensing device (202), a cable (210) for raising and lowering the sensing device within the rotor blade, and a positioning device (206) attached to at least one of the sensing device and the cable. The positioning device can be configured to space the sensing device apart from an interior surface (208) of the rotor blade as the sensing device is raised and lowered within the rotor blade.

A data structure is provided for storing network contact information based on an array of physical memory locations. Virtual vectors are constructed for each source, wherein each element in each virtual vector is assigned to a corresponding physical memory location within the array. The physical memory locations are shared between the virtual vectors uniformly at random so that the noise introduced by sharing can be predicted and removed. A method for storing network contact information is also provided in which a hash function is performed using the address of a source host to find a virtual vector for holding information about the source host. A second hash function is performed using the address of a destination host to find a virtual memory location, within the virtual vector, for holding information about the destination host. Finally, information is stored at a physical memory location assigned to the virtual memory location. Estimation range enhancement is further provided by performing multiple estimations with different sampling probabilities and selecting a best estimation based on a maximum likelihood method.
