摘要:
Exemplary methods of treating tissue that has been harvested for transplant are disclosed herein. An exemplary method of preparing corneal tissue for transplant includes obtaining corneal tissue that has been harvested for transplanting and exposing the corneal tissue to a plasma-activated fluid for a period of time.

Exemplary methods and systems for killing or deactivating spores include applying a fluid containing an additive to a surface containing a spore; and applying direct or indirect plasma to the surface for a period of time.
摘要:
Exemplary methods of opening pores and moving molecules into tissue comprising, applying plasma to the surface of tissue and applying a carrier including one or more molecules to the surface of the tissue are disclosed herein.

Exemplary systems and methods of delivering DNA vaccines are disclosed herein. An exemplary methodology of delivering DNA vaccines includes providing a plasma generator for applying plasma to a treatment area for a sufficient period of time to open one or more pores. Applying a topical DNA vaccine to the treatment area and waiting for a period of time to allow the DNA vaccine to travel through the one or more pores. The exemplary methodology further includes applying plasma to the treatment area at a setting sufficient to cause intracellular uptake of the DNA vaccine.

A subject's skin is exposed to non-thermal plasma, thereby enabling analytes in the interstitial fluid in the subject's body to migrate to the surface of the subject's skin. The concentration of analytes in the subject's blood can be determined based on the amount of these analytes.

A cleaning, sanitizing or disinfecting scrubbing device includes a body, a non-thermal plasma generator and damp wipe. Generated plasma activates fluid in the wipe. The device may include spacer posts between the body and wipe and a conductive mesh between the body and wipe or embedded in the wipe. Another embodiment includes a reservoir for holding a water- based fluid, a fluid delivery element connected to the reservoir by a tube through which the fluid can flow and a non-thermal plasma generator. The non-thermal plasma generator activates the fluid. In one embodiment the scrubbing device is a mitt. In another embodiment the scrubbing device is a glove.

An exemplary method of delivering drugs or vaccines includes applying a series of first electrical signals to an electrode to generate plasma. The first electrical pulses having a first duration, first voltage amplitude, and first rise time. Applying molecules, drugs or vaccines to an area of skin contacted by the plasma; and applying a series of second electrical signals to the electrode to generate plasma to contact the area of the skin. The second electrical pulses have a second duration, second voltage amplitude, and second rise time. The duration for the first electrical pulses is shorter than the duration for the second electrical pulses. The voltage amplitude of the second electrical pulses is larger than the first electrical pulses. The rise time of the second electrical pulses is shorter than the first electrical pulses.

Exemplary methods and systems for killing or deactivating spores include applying a fluid to a surface containing a spore; and applying direct or indirect plasma to the surface for a period of time. In some embodiments, the fluid includes water. In some embodiments, the spore is Clostridium difficile and in some is Bacillus Anthracis. In some embodiments, the fluid is in the form of a vapor, a fog, a spray, a mist or an aerosol, which may be activated prior to or after applying the fluid to a surface. In some embodiments, peroxynitrite is created in the fluid during the method. Another exemplary embodiment of killing or deactivating a spore includes treating spores with direct plasma or indirect plasma for a period of time and applying an antimicrobial to the spores. In some embodiments, the antimicrobial is an alcohol, a bleach or an alcohol-based sanitizer.

Exemplary systems and methods associated with skin treatments using non- thermal plasma to porate skin or tissues using conductive elements to direct an electric field through targeted regions of the skin or tissue. Various configurations of conductive elements and associated circuitry may be used to tune and control the electric field.
