Certain methods comprise exposing a substrate surface to a manganese precursor, and exposing the substrate surface to a tertiary amine.

Described are methods of depositing a metal film by chemical reaction on a substrate. The method comprises: exposing the substrate to flows of a first reactant gas comprising a group 2 metal and a second reactant gas comprising a halide to form a first layer containing a metal halide on the substrate; exposing the substrate to a third reactant gas comprising an oxidant to form a second layer containing a metal peroxide or metal hydroxide on the substrate during; exposing the substrate to heat or a plasma to convert the metal peroxide or metal hydroxide to metal oxide. The method may be repeated to form the metal oxide film absent any metal carbonate impurity.
Abstract:
Provided are processes for the low temperature deposition of silicon-containing films using activated SiH-containing precursors. The SiH-containing precursors may have reactive functionality such as halogen or cyano moieties. Described are processes in which halogenated or cyanated silanes are used to deposit SiN films. Plasma processing conditions can be used to adjust the carbon, hydrogen and/or nitrogen content of the films.

A device that effectively discharges a limited amount of liquid spray at a target, such as herbicide onto a weed, through pump action. The spray is contained by positioning the device such that a conical end-piece encases the target preventing diffusion of the sprayed liquid. The use of liquid is limited by the pump action spray, which discharges the liquid in limited quantities.

The invention relates to an energy efficient, environmentally favourable process for the preparation of brominated rubbers, in particular bromobutyl rubber, that uses a common medium for both solution polymerization and subsequent bromination of the rubber and which further exhibits an enhanced bromine usage due to the use of a oxidizing agent. More particularly, the invention relates to a process that employs a common aliphatic medium for both solution polymerization and bromination of rubber in the presence of a brominating agent and an oxidizing agent with intermediate removal of un-reacted monomers.

In one embodiment, an apparatus includes a processor configured for operation in a control plane in a distributed virtual switch in communication with a plurality of virtual machines each having a virtual interface. The processor is operable to identify other control planes in the distributed virtual switch, assign a virtual interface identifier to one of the virtual interfaces, receive a configuration for the virtual interface, and share the configuration with the other control planes in the distributed virtual switch. The virtual interface identifier provides a unique identifier for the virtual interface across all of the control planes. The apparatus further includes memory for storing the configuration of the virtual interface. A method for operating a network device associated with a control in the distributed virtual switch is also disclosed.

A method and system are provided for remotely analyzing multimedia content, in particular video, and extracting information from such multimedia content. The system analyses, e.g. a video file by way of an FTP, file upload or streaming data etc., and configuration settings specified in one embodiment by a separate entity at one of multiple server entities. The system also comprises one or more remote server entities utilizing data storage and data processing capabilities. In one embodiment the client sends a video source and configuration settings over a network, the remote server accepts the video source, generates configuration settings, and a data processing module analyzes the video content to extract data from the video.

A lung volume reduction system is disclosed comprising an implantable device adapted to be delivered to a lung airway of a patient in a delivery configuration and to change to a deployed configuration to bend the lung airway. The invention also discloses a method of bending a lung airway of a patient comprising inserting a device into the airway in a delivery configuration and bending the device into a deployed configuration, thereby bending the airway.

A system and method is disclosed herein for obtaining information from web site use. In one embodiment, the method comprises tracking interactions of a user with web content when the user uses a modified link to enter a website. The modified link is a link in a format that resembles a website address for the website but resolves at a location through which the user's interactions can be tracked. The method also includes storing data indicative of tracked interactions in a database.

A variety of steerable needles, lancets, trocars, stylets, cannulas and systems are provided for examining, diagnosing, treating, or removing tissue from a patient. The steerable needles, trocars, stylets, cannulas and systems also provide a platform for delivery of target materials, such as therapeutics, biologics, polymers, glues, etc., to a target site. An embodiment of the invention includes a steerable device for use in accessing target site in a patient comprising: a steerable member adapted to penetrate tissue; and a steering mechanism adapted to be operated by a user to apply a bending force to bend the steerable member to access the target site.
