Some aspects of the invention provide a footwear sole in a form of a single unitary layer composed of a composition having unique and beneficial qualities. Some aspects of the invention provide a footwear sole wherein the composition comprising: ethyl vinyl acetate (EVA), and rubber. Some aspects of the invention provide a footwear sole wherein the composition comprising: EVA, rubber, and at least one agent selected from a bulking agent and a foaming agent. Some aspects of the invention provide a method of preparing a footwear sole composed of a single unitary layer, comprising: forming, by mixing while heating, a molten composition comprising: EVA, rubber, and at least one agent selected from a bulking agent and a foaming agent; inserting the molten composition to a mold; and forming the sole while curing the molten composition in the mold.

Methods of making the compositions and foams are provided, as well as methods of making an article of footwear including one of the foam components. In some aspects, the foams and foam components can be made by injection molding or injection molding followed by compression molding.

The thermoplastic elastomer contains a polyether ingredient (A) as a structural unit, wherein the polyether ingredient is constituted of a polyoxyalkylene (-CnH2nO-) having carbon/oxygen atomic ratio of from 2.0 to 2.5 and is contained in an amount of 50 to 95 wt.% based on the thermoplastic elastomer, and the elastomer has a glass transition temperature of -20 DEG C or lower. Especially preferably, the elastomer comprises the polyether ingredient (A) and a polyester ingredient (B) bonded thereto with a polyisocyanate ingredient (C).

摘要： An orthopedic sandal comprises a sole and six mounted straps. Made of rubber that generates high friction, the straps pass through the edge of the sole to create 12 one to three centimeter-long extensions underneath the sole. The 12 extensions generate extra friction when the sandal contacts with the ground. The sole consists of an outer layer and an inner layer. Made of rubber mixed with nylon fibers, the outer layer has an empty inside divided sidewardly into 4 compartments. Each compartment is divided horizontally into two by a thin rubber layer. Made of soft rubber, the inner layer is a pouch divided into three compartments filled with special soft gel that has physical stability under the change of temperature and pressure. The inner layer is pre-shaped to ergonomically fit the wearer's sole and is also able to reshape to well fit the wearer's particular sole.
