摘要: The present disclosure relates to methods and apparatuses sensing emitted light caused by fluorescence of adhesive to determine characteristics of absorbent structures during the manufacture of absorbent articles. Some absorbent articles may have absorbent structures that include an absorbent core disposed between a topsheet and a backsheet. And one or more of the absorbent structure components may be assembled with adhesive that fluoresces when excited by ultraviolet light. Aspects of the present methods relate to an inspection system that may be configured to interact with, monitor, and/or control a converting line. The inspection system may include a radiation source that illuminates a surface of an absorbent structure with ultraviolet light. A sensor may be adapted to receive light caused by fluorescence of the adhesive while being irradiated with the ultraviolet light. In turn, the inspection system may determine characteristics of the absorbent structure based on the detected emitted light.

摘要: A method of making an absorbent pad, and the absorbent pad so made, including a porous under layer and an absorbent body including a pulverized pulp and a super-absorbent materials bonded to and between the porous layers; characterized in that the absorbent body is applied between the porous layers before bonding thereto by: applying a first layer of pulverized pulp to the porous under layer; applying a layer of the super-absorbent material over the first layer of pulverized pulp; and applying a second layer of the pulverized pulp over the super-absorbent material layers. One or more of the above layers also includes a deodorizer material which may include a deodorizer agent, to reduce odors, an anti-inflammatory agent to prevent skin erythema, and/or a perfume fragrance.

摘要: An absorbent core (28) for absorbent articles (20) such as diapers comprising a core wrap (16, 16') comprising a top side (288) and a bottom side (290), an absorbent material (60) between the top side and the bottom side of the core wrap, a first and second longitudinally-extending channel-forming areas (26a, b) substantially free of absorbent material preferably through which the top side of the core wrap is attached to the bottom side of the core wrap disposed on opposite sides of the longitudinal axis (80). The core has a central absorbent zone (62) between the first and the second channel-forming areas and a first and second lateral absorbent zones (61, 63) disposed laterally outwardly. The absorbent core comprises at least one transversal folding line (66, 66'), preferably at least two transversal folding lines, in the region where the longitudinally-extending channel-forming areas are present.

摘要: Pulpless absorbent cores and methods of manufacture are disclosed. A first exemplary method may comprise advancing a base carrier sheet in a machine direction, applying a first adhesive onto a top surface of the base carrier sheet, advancing the base carrier sheet within a first particulate material delivery chamber, depositing a first amount of particulate material onto the first adhesive within the first particulate material delivery chamber, applying a second adhesive onto the first amount of particulate material outside of the first particulate material delivery chamber, advancing the base carrier sheet with the first adhesive, the first amount of particulate material, and the second adhesive into a second particulate material delivery chamber, depositing a second amount of particulate material onto the second adhesive within the second particulate material delivery chamber, and applying a top carrier sheet onto the second amount of particulate material.
