A therapeutic mattress assembly 10 comprising a mattress 14 having a substrate assembly54 that includes a plurality of cylinders 58 positioned side by side over the length of the mattress. Each cylinder 58 is configured as a low air loss system to allow air to flow into the cylinder from a source 20 and out of the cylinder through small holes 66 located on the top of each cylinder. An overlay assembly 118 provides a foam cushion 130 that provides a supporting surface above the substrate assembly 54 for the patient. A calf lift bladder 146 operates to effectively raise or lower the patient's feet to prevent pressure related injuries. A lateral rotation assembly 18 selectively raises and lowers a selected half of the mattress 14 to turn patients in a lateral direction. A bolster 134, 138 inflates in response to the lateral rotation assembly 18 to secure the patient within the mattress 14.
Abstract:
A convertible chair, for example, a hair transplantation chair that permits movement of the patient during a procedure while the patient's head remains substantially stationary. The chair may include a head support and a plurality of body supports that may be mounted on a base, or on a cradle movably attached to the base. The chair can be configured for a follicular unit harvesting procedure and it could be also converted into a hair implantation configuration for hair implantation procedure. The patient remains in the chair during the procedure with his head substantially stationary, while various parts of his body may be repositioned, for example, by rotation of the cradle. The chair may be automated, or assisted with pneumatics, motors, foot pumps and the like. The chair is particularly useful for assisting robotic hair transplantation procedures.

A foot section for a birthing bed has a central panel (25) and two lateral plates (30, 30) that function, in an inclined attitude, as footrests and in a vertical attitude as posts for receiving calf supports (29). The calf supports (29) are stored in holsters (42) on the underside of the footrests. The mattress (21) is in three sections, with the outboard sections (31, 31) being hinged to a central section (26) so as to be swung upwardly upon the central section (26) thereby exposing the footrests without having to remove the whole foot section. The central panel (25) can be removed with the mattress and is adapted to be stood on its end for temporary storage, thereby conserving floor space.

La presente invención se refiere a una silla de ruedas eléctrica que incorpora un mecanismo de grúa, el cual permite trasladar una persona discapacitada o dependiente desde la propia silla de ruedas hasta cualquier superficie que se desee, como puede ser una cama, un inodoro, una camilla, etc., y viceversa, es decir desde dicha superficie a la silla de ruedas, y unos reposabrazos (10) que comprenden un dispositivo de anclaje (12) para la fijación de un arnés (13) de sujeción de un paciente. El chasis (1) de la silla de ruedas comprende un mecanismo de grúa, que a su vez comprende un actuador (14) conectado por un extremo al respaldo (17) y por el otro extremo a los reposabrazos (10) para elevar al paciente, que se encuentra sujeto en el arnés (13), desplazando los reposabrazos (10) mediante el accionamiento del actuador (14).

La presente invención se refiere a un dispositivo de apoyo para la cirugía de pie, tobillo, pierna, rodilla, muslo y pierna completa, donde dicho dispositivo se compone de tres piezas, una de ellas para darle soporte a la pierna completa donde dicha pieza cuenta con un orificio a la altura de la pantorrilla para dejar que esta sea introducida en el orificio para que la pierna quede soportada completamente y alineada paralelamente a la pieza principal, una segunda pieza la cual se apoya en al menos tres puntos específicos de la planta del pie con la característica que dicha pieza secundaria cuenta con un espacio tal que le permita al cirujano la el abordaje / taladrar el hueso calcáneo para aquellas cirugías en las que se requiere que un clavo intramedular sea colocado atravesando el hueso calcáneo, y una tercera pieza angular la cual es en forma de escuadra con un ángulo de 90° para permitir al cirujano alinear la pieza principal y la pieza secundaria cuando se está llevando una cirugía.

The convertible wheelchair (10) includes a seat (12) and a plurality of chair legs (18) extending downward from the seat (12). Each leg (18) includes a wheel (22) to permit movement of the convertible wheelchair (10). A reclining backrest (26) is pivotally mounted to the back of the wheelchair (10), which provides a flat, horizontal surface for a user (P) to rest thereon. Both the seat (12) and the backrest (26) include a pair of panels (30, 34, 40, 44) selectively extendable towards the lateral side in order to form a bed. In this configuration, a caregiver can easily maneuver the user (P) into any position required for ablutions and lavatory functions. Each panel (30, 34, 40, 44) and the handlebars (28) on the backrest (26) may include extendable legs (32, 36, 42, 46) to stabilize the bed.

An adjustable support arm for an operating room table includes an attachment, a support rod having an end pivotally attached to the attachment and pivotable about a lithotomy axis, and a lithotomy locking cylinder operably attached to the support rod. The lithotomy locking cylinder can be unlocked to raise or lower the support rod about the lithotomy axis and locked to retain the support rod in the desired lithotomy position. The lithotomy locking cylinder is infinitely adjustable over a range and can provide an assisting lift force. The support rod can also be pivotable about an abduction axis with an abduction locking cylinder operably attached to the support rod. The abduction locking cylinder can be unlocked to laterally pivot the support rod about the abduction axis and locked to retain the support rod in the desired abduction position. The abduction locking cylinder is infinitely adjustable over a range and can provide a bias force to a minimum abduction position.
