Abstract:
A locking cannula for medical lines comprising a tubular body (1) having a cannula appendage (2) extending axially therefrom, and a pair of elongated anchoring wings (3) arranged on opposite sides of the body (1) and including respective manoeuvring parts (4) and respective engagement parts (5). The anchoring wings (3) are connected to the body (1), between said manoeuvring parts (4) and said engagement parts (5), through respective elastically deformable arms (7), which each have a first portion (11) joined to the body (1), which is obliquely orientated to the side of the cannula appendage (2), and a second portion (12) joined to the engagement parts (5) of the respective anchoring wing (3), which is essentially orientated parallel thereto.
Abstract:
A medical tubing connector pair includes a female tubing connector, and a male tubing connector. The female tubing connector has an external thread and the male tubing connector has an internal thread, the external and internal threads threadingly engaged to secure the female and male tubing connectors together. The internal thread is made from a flexible material to permit the female and male tubing connectors to be connected to or disconnected from each other without rotation of the tubing connectors relative to each other.
Abstract:
Abstract:
A latch assembly for connection of conduit, the assembly comprising a female portion and a male portion, wherein each of the female portion and the male portion have a shell and a connection device. The connection device of the female portion includes a connection assembly with a molded-in slot, a release button, and a raised rib or alternatively is a connection opening. The connection device of the male portion includes a cantilevered region with a ramped engagement feature or alternatively is a raised cantilevered release button. When connected the cantilevered region or button deflects to accommodate the female portion until the ramped engagement feature or button engages the molded-in slot or connection opening, thus releasing the deflection. Depressing the release button disengages the latch allowing separation of the assembly.
Abstract:
The connection system (1) for connecting a fluid line (6) to a fluid reservoir (3) located within a device (2) by way of a cannula (5), comprises a cannula holder (4), a movable cannula cover (7) and locking means (11) for said cover (7). The system further comprises a receiving element (10) for receiving the cannula holder (4), said receiving element comprising releasing means (16) adapted for interaction with the locking means (11). The releasing means (16) and the locking means (11) are arranged to release the cannula cover (7) by said releasing means interacting with the locking means, so that the cannula cover is movable by the inserting force to expose the cannula when the cannula holder (4) is inserted into the receiving element (10). Thus a connection system is provided for easy and secure connection and no danger of injury by the cannula or staining of the cannula.
Abstract:
A medical connector system including a first connector and a second connector. The first connector has a housing, a biasing member, and at least one projection. The second connector has at least one groove for receiving the at least one projection. The proximal end of the second connector is configured to be at least partially disposed within the distal end of the housing of the first connector. Upon application and release of a first set of opposing axial forces applied to the connector system, the first connector is locked to the second connector and, upon application and release of a second set of opposing axial forces, the first connector is released from the second connector. The connectors may include indicators to show when the connector system is in the locked position.
Abstract:
The connection system (1) for connecting a fluid line (6) to a fluid reservoir (3) located within a device (2) by way of a cannula (5), comprises a cannula holder (4) holding the cannula (5) and a movable cannula cover (7) and locking means (11) for said cover (7), preventing the movement of the cannula cover (7) in a first state covering the cannula. The system further comprises a receiving element (10) for receiving the cannula holder (4), the receiving element being adapted for fixation to the device (2) or the receiving element forming part of the device (2), said receiving element comprising releasing means (16) adapted for interaction with the locking means (11). The releasing means (16) and the locking means (11) are arranged to release the cannula cover (7) by said releasing means interacting with the locking means, so that the cannula cover is movable by the inserting force to expose the cannula when the cannula holder (4) is inserted into the receiving element (10), so that the cannula cover (7) is in a second state exposing the cannula when the cannula holder (4) is inserted within the receiving element (10). Thus a connection system is provided for easy and secure connection and no danger of injury by the cannula or staining of the cannula.
