Abstract:
A system and method relates to a cost effective manner to identify the ID, location and orientation of objects such as playing cards relative to an interactive surface. The system and method uses a distinct pattern of conductive dots embedded on the surface of an object that is arranged in such a manner that they electrically couple with an array of conductive dots embedded on the interactive surface to generate a second pattern. The system and method also uses a RFID chip with a unique identification code embedded as an electrically conductive dot.
Abstract:
Abstract:
An multi-dimensional game comprises a physical component including a game board and game pieces and a virtual component including a virtual environment displayed on a display device. A user is able to play the game by interacting with the virtual or physical component, wherein in order to complete tasks in the game the user must transition between interacting with the virtual component and the physical component. The physical component comprises game blocks, which are able to couple to each other and form objects that are then represented in the virtual component.
Abstract:
Familiar games are enhanced by modification equipment and/or rule changes which add strategic possibilities, player interactions, and twists not found in original game rules. Games suitable for pairing with modification equipment include board games, card games, dice games, tile games, and parlor games, for example. Game modification instructions function to alter one or more of: hand size, discards, draws, seating, turn count, turn order, rounds, scores, winning conditions, item ownership, item visibility, item possession, team membership, equipment in play, action targets, and other categories. Multiple games may be yoked together. Instructions modifying play may be followed at specified times, even after an original game ends, to determine an ultimate winner. Instructions may be embodied in cards, spinners, and/or software. Modification instructions may apply to all turn-based games, or to games in a particular category, or to a particular branded familiar game, for example.
Abstract:
X Colony Game Systems is a specially designed puzzle-like, brain-teasing game with an objective being to assembly 2 dimensional paper pieces into 3 dimensional shapes and to construct intricate modules in geometrical forms. The geometrical forms may increase in complexity as users advance in the game.
Abstract:
Abstract:
The invention relates to a game set which comprises communicating elements, in the form of pieces, figurines, cards or dice, each having a radio-frequency tag provided with an individual identification code. A game board comprises a digital processing circuit (15) which is connected to a plurality of antennas (14), arranged such as to form a sensor matrix, for detecting the presence, type and position of the communicating elements. Radio-frequency readers (131 to 13m) are respectively connected to m corresponding input/output terminals of the digital processing circuit (15). Each radio-frequency reader (13) is connected to an associated group of n antennas (141 to 14n), preferably by means of a corresponding multiplexer (161 to 16m). The game board may consist of a removable assembly of basic boards, each comprising a basic digital processing circuit which is connected to the antennas (14) of the corresponding basic board.
Abstract:
Most contests have a contest theme or question and then the judges are to pick the winners objectively. However, the mental process of deciding the winner is rather subjective than objective. In our Contest Website Portal, we endeavor to improve the mental decision process by introducing the Winning Factor Combination that is founded on virtues of the entry submission. By defining the meaning of the virtues together with the contest, contestants can work towards expressing these virtues in their entries while the voters or judges can decide more objectively. These virtues are expressed separately and represented under different letters in the Winning Factor Combination. Winner, who garner the most votes under that particular letter or Winning Factor, will get a prize as well as Winning Factor Status Points reflecting the virtues and qualities in his contest entry. This mechanism not only make the contest more objective-oriented but also gear all parties towards building great virtues in their works and decision¬ making process. To complement the virtual Contest Portal, there is a Board Game that comprises of a game board, a stack of cards and a palm-sized portable electronic device (named as Win Piece). Win Piece holds Winning Entry database from the Contest Portal and is used to generate digital cards with Winning Factors, Winning Factor Status Points, Counter Conditions and Quotes that can be used when playing the board game. As most board games become boring and routine, the unpredictable and ever-growing database of Winning Entry Cards derived from winning entries to contests in the Contest Website Portal serve to keep the enthusiasm of gamers alive. Besides, this integrated mechanism of using a virtual contest website portal and a board game based on the Winning Factors and Winning Factor Status Points serves to open, nurture and share the wisdom of gamers in an international arena.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a system and method for changing the state of a user interface (UI) element of a computer program visually marked on a physical object, through a touch action upon the object, among a plurality of objects on the interactive surface, each comprising a capacitance tab and a unique identification code. During runtime execution of the computer program, and in response to a touch action upon an object by an end-user, the interactive surface is configured to detect such touch action upon the object through an embedded capacitance sensor positioned under the object, and direct a sensory accessory to indicate a new state of the UI element marked on an object by exhibiting a new sensory pattern. The present invention offers enhanced interactivity between an end-user and a computer program mediated by physical objects.
