Abstract:
An intelligent game system and apparatus comprises one or more sensors, a controller, a projector, one or more game pieces and one or more foldable three-dimensional terrain pieces. The game board and terrain pieces comprise one or more sensors each having an identifier for sensing when a game piece or terrain piece is located on the game board and/or terrain piece. The sensors obtain object information from the game pieces and/or terrain pieces and transfer the object information to a controller. The sensors of the terrain pieces transfer the object information to the sensor of the terrain piece below them until the bottom terrain piece transfer the object information to a game board sensor. The controller is thereby able to track properties of the game and/or terrain pieces, such as position, and adjust the gameplay accordingly.
Abstract:
A game wherein players move their game pieces around a pathway through multiple chambers is described. Moreover, the game may be portable. In some cases, the game apparatus may be carried in a plastic case that resembles a hard-backed book. The game components may be based on an individual chapter from a published children's book or novel.
Abstract:
The present invention provides method and apparatus for acting out a themed story using a set of play set style games (10), wherein each play set/game allows the user to act out a portion of the story. Accordingly, the game set may incorporate elements from a particular theme or popular cultural phenomenon, such as a book or movie. For example, each play set/game may be based on a chapter of a children's book or novel.
Abstract:
A game wherein players move their game pieces (226) across a multi-level playing field (214, 216) while trying to capture target pieces (230, 232) and avoid a chaser piece (228) is described. Moreover, the game may be portable. In some cases, the game apparatus (212) may be carried in a plastic case that resembles a hard-backed book (12). The game components may be based on an individual chapter from a published children's book or novel.
Abstract:
A game apparatus which comprises an upper surface (1) and a lower surface (10) which together define an intermediate chamber (12). The upper surface (1) has a plurality of apertures (2) each of which is provided with a closure device such as a pair of shutters (3), a sliding door (60), or a hinged lid (55). Movement of the apparatus randomly positions a ball (40) within the chamber (12) at one of a number of locations (16) on the lower surface (10) of the apparatus. A retrieval device (41) is inserted through a selected aperture (2) and if the ball (40) is beneath that aperture the retrieval device (41) magnetically connects thereto and permits the removal of the ball (40) from the intermediate chamber (12).
Abstract:
A board game system comprises one or more game objects, a processing device, a memory device and one or more cameras. Each of the game objects comprise a unique visual marker positioned on a top surface of the game object, wherein the unique visual marker comprises a series of concentric rings that represent data that uniquely identifies the game object. As s result, during the course of game play, the location and identification of the game objects are able to be determined by the processing device by analyzing images captured by the one or more cameras of the visual markers of the game objects on the game board. The processing device is able to compare the data of the visual markers to a table stored in the memory device that associates the data with a specific game object.
Abstract:
A three-dimensional game shaped as a pyramid or prism with four or more faces, in which each face has nine terraced levels that attenuate to the peak of the pyramid. Each level has a plurality of circular depressions for the placement of each player's playing pieces. The corresponding level of each face has the same number of circular depressions, and each consecutive higher level has two fewer depressions than its immediate lower level. The peak of the pyramid is truncated and has a single circular depression. The peak can only be occupied by one playing piece at a time.
Abstract:
A multi-level reconfigurable game board apparatus for supporting game pieces is disclosed. The game board apparatus comprises a lower game board, an upper game board and at least one intermediate game board position between the lower and upper game boards. The apparatus also comprises support structures allowing for a vertical superposition of the lower intermediate and upper game boards, one above the other. The intermediate game board can be divided into two parts and each of those parts is selectively positionable in a first configuration within the support structures and a second configuration outside the support structures. A programmable electronic digital apparatus for depicting on a display a multi-level game for three-dimensional play based on the game board apparatus is also disclosed.
Abstract:
A game wherein players move their game pieces around a pathway collecting tokens from a plurality of stores while trying to avoid sharing a space with a commonly controlled chaser piece is described. Moreover, the game may be portable. In some cases, the game apparatus may be carried in a plastic case that resembles a hard-backed book. The game components may be based on an individual chapter from a published children's book or novel.
