The present invention provides an improved process for recovering CO from a catalytic fast pyrolysis (CFP) process product effluent. The process comprises the steps of: a) providing a first vapor phase stream resulting from a CFP process comprising, on a water- free and solids-free basis, from 25 to 80 % CO and at least 15 % CO 2 , b) mixing the first vapor phase stream of step a) with a particular solvent to make a mixed phase stream, c) separating the mixed phase stream of step b) into a second vapor phase stream comprising CO and a liquid phase stream, and d) recovering a product stream from the second vapor phase stream of step c) having a higher concentration of CO and a lower concentration of CO 2 than the first vapor phase stream of step a).

Methods and apparatuses for enhancing absorption of acid gas components from sour feed gas are provided. In an embodiment, a method for processing a gas includes contacting a feed gas stream which comprises hydrocarbon and hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide with a liquid absorbent in a multistage counterflow absorption zone to absorb hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide from the feed gas stream into the liquid absorbent. The method produces an effluent liquid stream rich in hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide and a treated gas stream. Further, the method includes removing a portion of the liquid absorbent from an interstage location in the multistage counterflow absorption zone. The portion of the liquid absorbent is cooled to form a cooled portion, and the cooled portion is returned to the interstage location.

Die Erfindung betrifft ein Verfahren zur Entfernung von abzutrennenden Komponenten aus technischen Gasen mittels Absorptions- und Desorptionsprozessen, welche flüssige Absorptionsmittel anwenden, wobei mindestens eine Absorptionsvorrichtung (20) und eine Desorptionsvorrichtung (22) vorgesehen sind, dass mindestens ein Teil der die Absorptionsvorrichtung (20) verlassenden beladenen Lösung vor deren Aufwärmung abgezweigt wird und auf den Kopf der Wärmeübertragungssektion (22a) aufgegeben wird, und dieser beladene Teilstrom durch den vom unteren Teil der Desorptionsvorrichtung (22b) aufsteigenden Dampf durch Wärmetausch in der Wärmeübertragungssektion (22a) aufgewärmt wird, und der die Absorptionsvorrichtung (20) verlassende Reststrom der kalten, beladenen Lösung (5a) mittels des Entspannungsventils (25) und über den Wärmetaucher (21) in einen Druckentspannungsbehälter (26) entspannt wird, so dass sich der den Wärmetauscher (21) verlassende Strom in einen flüssigen und gasförmigen Zustand auftrennt, wobei der Druck im Druckentspannungsbehälter (26) derart abgesenkt wird, dass der gesamte Energiebedarf in Absorptions- und Desorptionsprozessen vermindert wird.
