The present invention relates to an integrated fluid bed catalytic cracking process (FCC) which allows the production of high-quality hydrocarbon mixtures as fuel. In particular the invention relates to an integrated process comprising a fluid bed catalytic cracking stage in which hydrocarbon cuts of a petroliferous origin are converted, in the presence of a catalyst, with at least two components containing ERS-10 zeolite, into mixtures with a high content of light cycle oil (LCO) having a high quality in terms of density and nature of the aromatic compounds contained therein. After a separation stage and a hydrotreatment stage, the LCO cut is subjected to an upgrading stage by treatment with hydrogen and with a catalyst comprising one or more metals selected from Pt, Pd, Ir, Ru, Rh and Re and a silico-aluminate of an acid nature.

The present invention relates to a method for preparing a zeolite core/silica zeolite shell composite, which involves adding a zeolite seed crystal to a gel solution containing: a silicon-source compound; a structure directing agent; and a fluorine anion-source compound, and crystalizing the resultant substance so as to grow a silica zeolite shell having a crystal structure coherent with the zeolite seed crystal. The present invention further relates to a zeolite core/silica zeolite shell composite prepared using the method, and to a usage of the zeolite core/silica zeolite shell composite.

In a process for converting C9+ aromatic hydrocarbons to lighter aromatic products, a C8+ aromatic hydrocarbon feed is passed through a xylenes fractionation column to separate the feed into a C8 rich vapor overhead fraction and a C10+ rich liquid bottoms fraction. In addition, a vapor side-stream is removed from adjacent the bottom of the xylenes fractionation column and at least part of the vapor side-stream is passed through a condenser to condense a heavy liquid stream rich in C10 and higher aromatics and leave a lighter vapor stream rich in C9 and C10 aromatics. The lighter vapor stream rich in C9 and C10 aromatics is then contacted with toluene or benzene in the presence of a trans alky lation catalyst system under transalkylation reaction conditions to produce a transalkylation reaction product comprising (i) benzene or toluene and (ii) xylene.
