摘要: A conduction-cooled card assembly (100) is disclosed that includes a conduction-cooling frame (102), a printed wiring board (104) mounted on the frame, and a wedgelock fastener (122). The conduction- cooling frame has a thermal management interface (124) adapted to transfer heat from the frame to a chassis (128), and the wedgelock fastener is adapted to press the thermal management interface of the conduction-cooling frame against a rail of the chassis.. The assembly also has one or more of the following characteristics: (a) the thermal management interface of the conduction-cooling frame is made primarily of a first material and a portion of the thermal management interface that is adapted to engage the wedgelock fastener or the rail of the chassis is made of a second material that is softer than the first material, and (b) the wedgelock fastener is made primarily of a first material and a portion of the wedgelock fastener that is adapted to engage the thermal management interface or another rail of the chassis is made of a second material that is softer than the first material. A chassis for conduction-cooled card assemblies is also disclosed which comprises a housing and at least first and second rails within the housing that are adapted to receive a conduction-cooled card assembly therebetween. At least one of the first and second rails is made primarily of a first material and has a surface portion made of a second material that is softer than the first material.

摘要: A clinch pin fastener comprises a lamination of layers bonded face-to-face. The individual layers can be formed by stamping or photo etching and can be bonded together by soldering, by using an adhesive or by ultrasonic bonding. The heads of the outermost layers may include a tab at the top which extends laterally at a 90-degree angle to the outermost layer. The fasteners are preferably constructed by bonding elongate strips to form a continuous string of fasteners joined side-to-side at integral, severable joints located between adjacent heads of the fasteners. The fasteners can be wound about a supply reel without a carrier and thereafter unwound from the reel as they are installed.

摘要: Cookware having improved uniform heat transfer over the entire cross section thereof, the cookware formed from a multi-layered composite metal (20) having a layer (40) of titanium or other metal having a lower coefficient of thermal conductivity than that of the adjacent layers at or near the core of the composite. The titanium layer is roll bonded to layers (60), (60') of aluminum which, in turn, is roll bonded to layers (70), (70') of stainless steel. The layer of stainless steel adjacent to the cooking range may be a ferritic stainless steel if induction-type heating is desired. The multi-layered composite is also suitable for making a sole plate for an iron. Both the cookware and sole plate may include a non-stick surface (90) applied thereto.

摘要: A system and method having application in semiconductor areas for accurate die placement on a substrate that take into account any positional offset from the reference position due to variations caused by thermal change and other nonrandom systematic effects. The system includes an offset alignment tool having a plurality of internal reflection surfaces and located below a vision plane of the substrate, and an optical detector to receive an indirect image of a bottom surface of the die through the alignment tool, such that the die is accurately positioned on the substrate based on the indirect image received by the optical detector. The method comprises the steps of providing a cornercube offset alignment tool having a plurality of total internal reflection surfaces below a vision plane of the die, and receiving an indirect image of the die tool through the cornercube offset tool.

摘要: A method for protecting joined components from salt or other environmental hazards is described. The method may include joining an end fitting into a driveshaft tube which results in a gap between the two. The gap may be cleaned and dried before a moisture protecting liquidized metal coating is applied. The coating may be sprayed on as the joined end fitting and tube are rotated together. The coating fills the gap and extends laterally beyond the gap and may be subsequently covered with a phenolic resin.
