본 발명은 지중매설관의 연결에 사용되는 연결장치 및 이에 사용되는 발포시트를 제조하기 위한 조성물에 관한 것이다. 구체적으로 본 발명은 저밀도폴리에틸렌, 고밀도폴리에틸렌, 말레인산 무수물 그라프트 공중합체, 메탈로센 폴리에틸렌계 엘라스토머를 포함하는 베이스수지 100 중량부에 대하여, 저밀도폴리에틸렌, 고밀도폴리에틸렌, 말레인산 무수물 그라프트 공중합체, 메탈로센 폴리에틸렌계 엘라스토머, 발포제 및 첨가제를 포함하는 마스터배치 1 ~ 10 중량부를 포함하는 파이프 연결용 시트 조성물에 관한 것이다. 본 발명에 따른 조성물을 사용하는 경우, 용융압출과정에서는 미발포시트로 제조되었다가, 전열선과 합지하여 전기를 가함으로써 고온에서 발포되면서 파이프에 융착되어 공간을 메울 수 있다.

According to the present invention there is provided a method of forming an electrofusion seal between a first component (31) and a second component (32) comprising the steps of:- (a) providing a first component (31) incorporating a region formed from an electrofusible plastics material; (b) providing a second component (32) incorporating a region formed from an electrofusible plastics material, the first and second components being adapted to mate together in a mating region; (c) providing a separate sealing element, said sealing element incorporating energy transfer means (61), said energy transfer means (61) being adapted to cause, in use, the first component (31), the second component (32) and the sealing element to fuse or bond together; (d) applying energy to the energy transfer means to fuse or bond the first component (31) to the second component (32).

This electric heating material (11) is manufactured by the steps of arranging a plurality of conductive metal wires (2) in parallel with each other, supplying the arranged wires (2) to a crosshead type extrusion molding machine, supplying thermoplastic resin independently to the molding machine to extrusion mold the resin together with the wires (2) so as to form the strap (1) internally incorporating the wires (2), sequentially folding and laminating the strap (1) at predetermined intervals in accordance with lines (13) acutely inclined with respect to the lateral direction to form a rectangular two-ply sheet, and integrally bonding the two layers into an integral laminate when required. The electric heating material (11) is more advantageous when combining it with a thermally shrinkable synthetic resin member and using it as a corrosion resistive or protective coating.

The invention is a processing technique which allows Fiber Reinforced Polymer laminates of any arbitrary thickness to be manufactured. Thick laminates processed in this fashion will not exhibit adverse process induced residual stresses which serve to reduce or limit laminate operability, performance and service life. This invention provides a means by which conventional processing problems associated with very thick laminate construction can be avoided, thereby ensuring a high degree of thick laminate part quality and performance. The invention operates by placing a heating element 2 on in thermosetting resin on the surface of a laminate layer 1, such that when two layers are bonded together, the element can insure that the resin us uniformly heated.

To produce a pipe fitting applicable to pipes by welding, a heating wire is laid in the region of the contact surfaces and connected at the end to contacts. The pipe fitting consists of thermally weldable material in which both the heating wire and the contacts are secured by an injection moulding process. For a fast and reliable welded bond, it is proposed to arrange the heating wire at least in sections in a plane corrugated form, thus producing a corrugated heating strand. This heating strand is then arranged in windings in the desired welded regions of the pipe fitting. Here, the broad side of the corrugated line lies on the contact surface of the pipe fitting.

The invention concerns a hat-shaped connection sleeve (5) for the fluid-tight joining of house service connections to a sewer pipe (1) relined with a thermoplastic inliner (3). The connection sleeve (5) comprises a thermoplastic flange (6) in the centre of which is a recess (15) whose shape and dimensions correspond approximately to the visible cross-section of the house service connection. A flat structure, which is shaped to form a tube and consists of thermoplastic fibres or threads, such as a non-woven, woven or knitted fabric or the like, is bonded at its ends in the region of the recess (15) to the flange (6). According to an alternative embodiment, the flange (6) comprises an integrally formed or bonded-on connection piece (7) to which the flat structure shaped in the manner of a tube is bonded. The invention further concerns a method for the fluid-tight joining of house service connections to a sewer pipe (1) relined with a thermoplastic inliner (3). To this end, the hat-shaped connection sleeve (5) is bonded by its flange (6) to the thermoplastic inliner (3) and the flat structure, impregnated with a hardenable agent, is pressed against the inner wall of the house service connection and bonded thereto.

The present invention relates to a connecting apparatus used for connecting underground pipes and to a composition for preparing a foamed sheet used for same. Specifically, the present invention relates to a sheet composition for a pipe connection which comprises 1 to 10 parts by weight of a masterbatch including low-density polyethylene, high-density polyethylene, a maleic anhydride graft copolymer, a metallocene polyethylene elastomer, a foaming agent, and an additive, based on 100 parts by weight of a base resin including low-density polyethylene, high-density polyethylene, a maleic anhydride graft copolymer, and a metallocene polyethylene elastomer. When using the composition according to the present invention, a non-foamed sheet is manufactured during melt extrusion, and a foamed sheet is obtained at a high temperature by laminating the non-foamed sheet with a heater line and applying electricity thereto. Therefore, the sheet composition can be fused and filled into a pipe.
