The anti-slip coverings include a first layer made of a semi-flexible material that is configured to receive contact from an object and has slits at least partially extended through the first layer. The slits are configured to at least partially open when one or more of a downward force and a horizontal force is applied by the object onto the anti-slip covering In some examples, the anti-slip covering includes a second layer disposed between the first layer and the underlying surface to allow compression of the first layer when a downward force is applied on the anti-slip covering.

The invention includes a microbe-mitigating architectural barrier that includes a barrier forming material, and at least one biocide. The harrier forming material may be a bitumen product, an elastomeric polymer and combinations thereof. The microbe-mitigating architectural barrier may be formed by applying an emulsion composition directly to an architectural surface, or it may be preformed and adhered or otherwise secured to the architectural surface in the form of a sheet or film. The invention also includes architectural assemblies and/or building envelopes that include the microbe-mitigating barrier. Related methods include a method of preparing an architectural barrier that includes: (a) preparing an emulsion that comprises a barrier forming material chosen from a bitumen product, an elastomeric polymer and combinations thereof, and at least one biocide, (b) applying the emulsion to at least one architectural surface, and (c) drying and/or curing the emulsion to form a barrier.

The adhesive layers may be from 0.05 to 1 mm thick or from 5% to 10% of the laminate thickness. The method includes forming a rubber core layer, curing it, applying a rubber adhesive layer on each side to form a laminate, inserting the laminate between two rigid members under compression, and post-curing to form a bonded part. The adhesive layers may be partially cured before inserting.

The invention relates to a thin vacuum insulation comprising vacuum evacuated beads composed from materials with cavities so small that the Knudsen effect significantly reduces Brownian movements. The vacuum evacuated beads are combined with low emission material and getter materials, and the vacuum evacuated beads and the low emission material and the getter material are mixed and contained within an ultra-thin airtight containment. The vacuum evacuated beads are attached to each other and to a vacuum insulation composite, for preventing thermal bridges along a surface of the beads, The invention also relates a production process for such ultra-thin vacuum insulation and to cubes for such ultra-thin vacuum insulation according to the invention.
