The present invention relates to a laminated barrier film having a PECVD barrier coating of diamond-like carbon, and to a method of manufacturing such films, and furthermore to edge-covering strips made from such films, in particular intended for liquid carton packaging. The invention further relates to a packaging container comprising the edge-covering strip and in particular to a packaging container intended for liquid food packaging.

An easy open package is provided including a package body formed from a flexible film having a pair of transverse end seals (114, 116) and a longitudinal seal (112) generally therebetween. The longitudinal seal (112) includes a sealed region between a first longitudinal edge portion of the flexible film sealed to a second longitudinal edge portion of the flexible film. A tear strip (118) and pull tab (122) formed in the package body are configured such that initiation of a tear by pulling the pull tab (122) in one direction causes controlled tearing of the flexible film along the line of weakness (120) defining the tear strip (118). Flexible films and methods for fabrication of the flexible films and packages also are provided.

Containers are disclosed, as well as multilayer films used in such containers, which advantageously maintain a high seal strength even after being subjected to hot-fill conditions for sterilization. These microwavable/ovenable containers (10) and multilayer films are also beneficially self-venting upon exposure to microwave heating, when the internal container pressure exceeds a threshold value. These self-venting containers are also automatically self-sealing after the self-venting feature has ruptured and the container has cooled to room temperature. The self-venting self-sealing nature of these containers arises from particular film and sealing characteristics, in which the seal width differs in defined, self-venting self-sealing seal regions (13A), relative to non-venting seal regions (13B) of a given peripheral seal. Particular film materials and structural geometries of the self-venting self-sealing seal regions can be used to improve the location of venting and control of the vented gases, as well as, the resealability of the containers.

A wrapped package (10) of consumer goods comprises: a filled package (12) containing one or more consumer goods; and an outer wrapper (14), wrapped around the filled package such that first (16a) and second (16b) opposed edges of the outer wrapper overlap with each other along a longitudinal overlapping region (18) extending across a first side of the package. The outer wrapper (14) is provided with a opening cut (22) extending transversely all of the way across the longitudinal overlapping region (18) to define an opening tab (24) in the outer wrapper (14).

A packaging laminate for forming packaging containers has a core of paper or cardboard, and a first side forming the outside of a packaging container and a second side forming the inside of the packaging container. The packaging laminate is provided with crease lines defining folding locations usable during forming of the packaging containers, and each crease line defines a linear protrusion on one side of the laminate and a corresponding linear depression on the opposite side of the laminate. The packaging laminate is characterized in that at least one crease line, which forms a corner edge of the packaging container, has its linear protrusion on the first side of the packaging laminate.

The present invention relates to a package for dispensing absorbent material, having a body and fastening means. The package comprises an opening along the front surface to allow the withdrawal of the material to be used. The numerous embodiments have different fastening devices, which provide a secure and safe fastening to the roll-holder means. The withdrawal of the material to be used occurs hygienically. The user touches only the material to be used and the fastening of the package allows the user to employ only one hand by withdrawing the material to be used.

Eine Endnaht (5) ist an einem ersten Ende (12) des Gebindekörpers (2) und es sind im Bereich der Seitenfalten (3) an den Gebindeecken (8) Ecknähte (7) vorgesehen, die sich durch jeweils zwei Lagen (13a, 13b) der Seitenfalten (3a, 3b) erstrecken, um den Bereich der Gebindeecke (8) von dem Innenvolumen zu trennen.
